  • I thought about getting a second job but someone told me that I would lose over 40% in tax. Does anyone know any more about that?

    Kind regards

  • Golf Clubs are also a good option for casual bar work.

Do you seriously mean this question, or did you just try to say "something" to get your link in here?

no you wouldnt..your main wage would have the tax free allowance so you would pay around 20% straight away in another job.UNLESS your main wage is in the 40% bracket..then yes you would pay 40%...so if you earnt £30,minus 20% means you would bring out £24 in your hand.hope my maths are right there:D

I've been working a second job delivering pizza's. I hate it. It's soul destroying . You are working hard just tp pay your way and you spend all night delivering fast food to people in council houses on benefits who are spending 2 or 3 times a week on fast food the amount you have to scrimp by on for your weekly food budget. Whenever your not working the boss is alaways phoning asking you to come in as they always under schedule, I dread the phone calling in the evevning, you can never plan anything and if you say you are busy they get really arsey. However I like the idea of tesco delivery- there is one very close by.
  • cheers for the replys everyone.
the pub work deos look favourite.
tho the security at event works looks good. as i tend to do alot of lifting in gym during week, and be a shame to have to cut into that. tho having said that, sat work means no strongman training in bolton haha
    ah well, always the way

possette, how many assignments do you get a month on average and what type of things do you have to do, sounds fun, but it must be worthwhile on the pocket.

well my last one was....i had to spend 45 mins in Currys asking about TVs..i got all the other info i needed on walking in the shop(a photographic memory works well at that) and because the staff member wasnt asking me any questions that they should have it only took 10 mins:confused: then they left me looking at other stuff, i have been to big chain hardware stores and asked about xmas trees to kitchens and bathrooms, and Bank to ask about accounts etc it can take about 15 min to input your results tho.

.i get around 4 -6 offered a month but i only do 1-2..best ones are going to Subway and eating for free and going into amusement arcades and gambling for free..great fun..:T

Thank you for that. I did wonder why I was being told that you get penalised for taking on a second job! (Sadly my main job isn't in the 40% bracket!)

PS I did genuinely want to know the answer and I hope it was related to the topic. Like many people I find tax so confusing! I'm really sorry Any if you felt otherwise!

    Kind regards
