Generally I prefer to write an email, which I then post by recorded delivery so no gremlins can misplace it.

Isn't that called "a letter"?

My best complaint results are:

I have even complained about sales assistants who were just not interested in selling, I have earned around £200 in vouchers for this alone.

That's slightly scary. You "earned" due to complaints about sales assistants?
• Mark the letter "Recorded delivery" especially if you really are intending eventually to end up in court.

If you are thinking you might end up in court send one letter recorded and one unrecorded. Safer as they must have got one of them!! Quite often if you send recorded and they know its something they might not want they might not sign for it so it will go back to the depot as undelivered.

Two letters covers your back.
If you're not behind our soldiers.....please feel free to stand in front of them!

The MD for JL is Andy Street. The John Lewis domain is Johnlewis.com

So try:

Andy.Street@johnlewis.com
astreet@johnlewis.com
Andy_street@johnlewis.com
andyst@johnlewis.com
a_street@@johnlewis.com
etc etc

Looks a good website although a few more email addresses would be good.

Chuckled when I saw:

George Bush : president@whitehouse.gov.

Reckon you'll get a personal reply?
I think he will think it is for OBAMA

If you go to the cinema and have cause to complain always try to use the line "It really ruined my enjoyment of the film" or something along those lines this will almost always result in free tickets for next time and depending on what the complaint is you may get a refund as well as the free tickets.

Obviously you do need to have a valid complaint and if there is something wrong they will always ask if you came and told someone about it during the film. Always say no because it was hard enough to watch the film as it was without missing bits while trying to complain. This has worked for many reasons such as rattling air con vents, being too hot/cold, other people being noisy, volume too loud/quiet anything else that might ruin the film for you.

Cinemas dont make much on the price of the tickets (which is why the popcorn and drinks are so expensive) so to give you free tickets costs them nothing.

(I used to work for a major cinema chain ;) )
Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

One that sticks in my mind was Wallis at Marble Arch; the fitting room assistant (aged around 50) was wandering up and down the fitting rooms saying 'Ladies, you're all being very lazy today. Make sure you hang everything up correctly on the hangers, and if you're going back to the rack for a new size, take the items back yourself as I'm very busy' (which she wasn't). A fellow customer complained verbally (politely) saying that she was a customer, and she felt the fitting room assistant was being rude, and the fitting room assistant informed her 'This is my fitting room; if you don't like it, leave'. I left without buying anything, and wrote to Wallis to complain. Sent the letter three times, never got a reply, and three and half years later, I've never been back. Monsoon might be a little more expensive, but I'll pay rather than deal with rude staff and be ignored by head office.
Arcadia group are crap, do we have any email addresses for them - I had a run in with the manager of a Miss Selfridge store over an internet return.
