call a locksmith ???
Dont think there is any other way sorry couldnt be more help0 -
Three ways:
Assuming you don't have a high security door, then you can knock the hinge pins out which will enable you to open the door. This is the easiest approach. Use a nail if you don't have a pin punch. If the pin has been peened over on both ends then you will need to file/grind one end off first.
Method 2. Get a key blank (you could borrow one from a neighbour to show the key shop what you need). Get a candle and cover key in soot. Put in lock and rotate. Take key out you will notice that some of the key is shiny. This denotes the position of the lever plates. File off the metal. Re-soot the key and keep going. You will find it turns a bit more each time until it opens the lock.
Method 3: If its a yale type lock - drill out the centre.
Not sure about double glazing locks. You can drill them but getting them undone could be a bit tricky. I wouldn't call a locksmith personally.0 -
MisterT2,
Thanks for your advise. Lock removed without too much damage to the door.

NOTE: If you go to a key shop, they will NOT give you a key blank, just incase you want to break in to a house.Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

job done i can see
BUT
for future interest
as has been said above, use a "roto type tool" to cut the pin heads off the hinges
or drill the lock out, if its a "euro" barrel cylinder type of lock, a few mm above the bottom of the cylinder is the springs, drill a small hole (4 mm will do) right down the center, this will wipe out the springs and cause the pins to drop on the lock, then just put a screw driver into the key bit and turnThis is how a locksmith will do it, i know, ive worked as one for years
i dont see why we charge 80 quid to do a 15 min job
for the record, ive since changed jobs, now a window cleaner, more money0
