    SM big hugs

    Today
    DOne NOTHING
DS left packed lunch on table, darling mother (me) rushed down in the car, caught the bus by parking precariously (?sp) turned of engine and dashed across road to give boy sandwiches

Car then wouldn't start - arghghghghgh - picture the scene, unwashed face, slipper crock things on (very slippy on wet flagstones it would seem) no coat no phone dd at home eating brekkie. (had only just brushed my teeth) had to dash home, rung aa - put on shoes, coat pick up phone, get bike out of garage (shouted at DD - poor thing - will say sorry later) - down road to wait for nice if amused man who sorted my car out - AA told me he would arrive at 9.20 (I!!!!!!!!!! phoned at 8.05 - not great for a damsel in distress)

Man turned up at 8.25 (orcadians are wonderful!!) he said it be sorted in a jiffy and it was, didnt sign anything as he told me to 'gae hame and get a heat lass' (go home and warm up!)

List later when I feel less arghghghggh and more ahem - got to work on time?!? How no idea.

    Poor DD.
Will DS even thank me - I think not!
    :rotfl:

    (sorry know I shouldn't) :o
  • Morning all

Huge hugs to you Sophiesmum :grouphug: and everyone else feeling sad today. And I wholeheartedly echo the sentiment of making sure your family and loved ones know how dear they are to you.

Onto to DFW things, and today I will/have:
    • Check online banking / quidco / amazon / ebay / surveys
    • Bought breakfast and lunch to work
    • Got meat out of freezer for a storecupboard dinner
    • Use free gym membership tonight & shower there - save water at home and use their free shower gel!!!
    • List a few bits of furniture for sale at work due to imminent house move
    • Transfer paypal balance to bank account
    • Transfer a few of our plants from garden to pots to take to new house with us
    • Update DFW diary

Think that's all folks Have a lovely day everyone xx
  • Morning everyone.

Firstly, hugs to sophiesmum, nice dream vibes to KTjazz and MrsAudus2b for tonight, good luck for Piquant with the date and the same goes for ElizabethJH with the interview.

Phew, I'm glad I have a boring life in comparison.

    Last night/this morning I have:

    * Bitten the bullet and phoned Plusnet. The lad on the other side of the phone was gearing up for an argument but then he thought better of it when I used my "we are not amused" tone of voice. Smackdown! My broadband is now £7.99 a month cheaper plus the £40 on Quidco for my new ISP has tracked. Glad I did it now.

    * Gathered all the forms up to try and squirel my ISA away somewhere safe seeing as the Codheads have given it back to me :D I'll have to get on the phone again to find out exactly how to do it because it's all a bit complicated.

    * Checked my bank statement. Some interest has arrived and that's about it. Some wages should arrive tomorrow seeing as it's pay day. Woo!

    * Brought my dinner into work. Just a boring sandwich and some custard tart that needed eating up (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

    * Done some surveys. Will continue to do them as and when they arrive during the day.

    * Carshared into work.

    * Tea and drinking water courtesy of work.

    Today I will:

    * Phone the ISA people as per above.

    * I think it's scrambled egg and chopped tomatoes on toast for tea tonight. Can't be bothered to make anything more exciting than that.

    * Remember to bring both my phones into work tomorrow with their chargers to monitor the whole porting my number shenanigans.

    * Bring MP3 player into work to charge.

    * Do some washing on 30 degrees and dry it on the airer seeing as the heating is on anyway.

Sparkles to everyone... it's lovely and sunny in Sheffield today and I hope everyone has a good one!
  • So far I've;
    Checked all the online accounts.
Paid £4 to high interest debts in payment a day.
Saved £2.20 because I'm off work with the cold.

I intend to venture out to tesco's to get some essentials but use my vouchers (only £2 but will get me milk and some fruit).
    Make some bread.
    Have a store cupboard meal.
Look out some stuff for ebay and get it listed.

    Hello everyone,

hope it's ok to join you all :D ; hugs to sophiesmum on your sad news, lost my mum to cancer last year & still angry - she was too young & didnt deserve it - isnt that always the way though. I try to appreciate each day & the people I love, although sometimes forget when carried away by being DFW :o .

Today I got up at 6.30 to use the cheap rate electricity for washing at 30, all hung on airer as raining outside.

I have also converted some lightspeed points into HMV vouchers & just ordered a dvd for DD's christmas present list.

Staying in all day until collecting DD from school & keeping warm by doing chores  .

    Hugs to Sophiesmum.

Not great today - checked online banking and we'r ehugely close to our limits, and I've only just been paid! Am owed £100 or so by the deli and have acheque for £40 to pay in, plus got a commission for a birthday cake at the weekend, so at least there wil be a bit more coming until husband's payday at the end of the month. I suppose it's christmas - I've done it all on debit cards so far and I've got probably half of the presents I need to get. DEtermined not to get the credit cards out.

Brought a packed lunch with me, ate breakfast at home, free tea, will be at gym, not spending money in the lunchhour, and will hopegfully have a nice homecooked dinner by my husband when I get home tonight (late working tonight).

  • Morning all

:grouphug: to sophiesmum and anyone else that needs them.

Been feeling very down last couple of days (although Fays post this morning made me laugh out loud!:rotfl: ) Don't know whats up with me but am sure I'll shake it off. Just feel I don't get anywhere of a day. Comes from having a toddler I suppose!

Anyway, heres my list for today:

    * Storecupboard tea
    * Washing at 30'c
    * Cancelled a non-essentials direct debit today. Something I'm sure I can live without so that should improve bank balance ever so slightly
    * Tried to get my head around childcare funding for 3 years olds. Can't see that its organised to the benefit of parents myself. Is going to make things awkward in non-term times.

Can't think of anything else! Not a NSD today as went to Sainsbugs and treated myself to a jar of decent coffee (sick to back teeth of own brand cr*p), a loaf of lovely granary bread and some mini choccie doughnuts for little boy. Oooh, I know how to live!

See , told you I was miserable. Will try and be bright and breezy tomorrow lol!!!!

    Miss P
    xx

  • First thing for me, was coming back on here. I used to come here very day to do my clcick, competitions, challenegs etc. Things fell by the waysiude as our son got older, demanded more of our time, and we realised that our debt management plans weren't working for us.

We're now going through CCCS, and being far more savvy on our money - we were before, but as my OH's maternity pay went to basic to zero, we struggelled, to be honest. But things are underway now, and we'll likely end up with an IVA, as we decided bankruptcy wasn't for us.

So anyway back to the original post!
I now walk from Station to work (Kings Cross to Trafalgar Square) and back again, saves £1.50 each way/£3 a day in tube fares. (bus is only 90p, but only 5-10 mins quicker!)
    And I'm using MSE again.
Thought of a few things to sell on ebay!

Those are the two things i've done today! :)

    Morning all! (Nearly afternoon now)
I've been away working for the last week or so and will be in Poland from Weds - Fri this week so haven't been around much lately. But I'm still trying to keep up with the DFW ways and will continue to read everone's posts - hope everyone's feeling a bit better now?

    So, today/yesterday I will/have....
    • Brought left over lunch to work (veggie bean chilli and fruit)
    • Have lone veggie "chicken" kiev beans and a jacket potato for tea to use up bits as OH is playing football and doesn't need feeding
    • Charge mobile at work
    • Have a NSD - don't actually need anything so am trying to resist impulse spends
    • Checked banks etc
    • Done my budget for the next 3 weeks til pay day - surprisingly not too bad:confused:
    • Do expenses for work
    • Try to do mealplan for next week so minimising few bits I need from the shops this weekend
    • Have a look at Xmas pressie for MIL online
    • Check Nectar points - does anyone know if you can use these online on a sainsburys shop?
    • Do any surveys that come to me
That's all I can think of for today
    Have a good one!
