calling/texting foriegn mobiles from foreign mobiles

HI there can't find this elsewhere, have read Martins guide to foriegn mobiles, but as i am travelling around with friends some of my calls and texts will be to mobiles in the same foreign country, i want to know how these will be charged with a UK pay as you go simcard, obviously it will be cheaper with local sims but not sure it will be worth it, also the cost with a sim4travel?

roaming with a UK payg SIM is very expensive, around £1 a minute

the United Mobile SIM (sim4travel is a rebrand or agent) costs €0.59 per minute for most European mobiles

if you and the group are in the same country for more than a couple of days, I'd certainly think strongly about local SIM cards - we've usually done this and local calls vary, but are quite often in the 3p to 10p per minute range, or there are increasing numbers of bolt-on tariff options - find info for plenty of countries on the PrepaidGSM site Martin mentioned

for international calls from abroad, look at callback or calling cards with the foreign SIM card
