Hi Mrs E
I have it! I love this book and have made loads from it with no problems. Planning to get round to making the mint syrup, flavoured vinegars and more boozy items next year alongside the favourite chutneys. Mind I've made enough this year to last about 2yrs!
I've made the following over the last 2yrs
Flavoured oils
Winter fruit compote
All seasonal chutneys
Chilli Jam
Picallili
Blackberry and apple flavoured gin
All store well and only a couple turned out a bit dodgy and haven't tried them yet - strawberry jam that went runny and hearty ale chutney that was also runny and a dodgy colour. Both might taste ok though when I use them
Doesn't have a mango chutney recipe in it
HTH
Its split into jams and marmalades, chutneys, vinegars and oils, bottled fruit, squashes and booze off the top of my headfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Amazon £6.66
Isn't that one (superjam) without extra sugar?
Yes it does give the recipe using grape juice instead of sugar so great if you are trying to avoid it, but gives it with the equivalent weight of sugar too so you can chop and change if you prefer to use sugar. I wouldn't be without it. Also gives some lovely baking recipes to use some of the jams you make.0 -

Brilliant, I wondered if they were "preserved" as long if they lacked in sugar:p:o0 -

Preserves and Pickles by Alison Burt has been my bible for twenty five years. The recipes are fairly traditional, but I've never had one fail.

Got the superjam book, will be eagle eyed now for any reduced mangos.
Great book, no piccalilli recipe, which surprised me as there are a good few chutney type recipes. I need the Rover Cottage one too, is that a nice piccalilli recipe?0 -
