example from boots and JS no pictures displayed
http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryParentId=4317&storeId=10052&categoryId=4384&catalogId=11051&langId=-1

OK, I think the reason is because the pictures are coming from a website that aren't the same website that you're viewing. eg the first camera picture on the JL page comes from this address:
http://s7v1.scene7.com/is/image/JohnLewis/230475869?$list$
And the first (Boots) toothpaste picture comes from this address:
http://boots.scene7.com/is/image/Boots/10033558?wid=65&hei=83&op_sharpen=1
And I've just noticed that both of these pictures come from scene7.com
I don't know much about this but I've just Googled their website and it all seems to come back to the Adobe thing that was mentioned in one of the first replies. scene7 provide a service to commercial websites that allows them to manage their pictures without needing an IT expert - according to the blurb on their website - using "Adobe Scene7's SaaS platform".

I'm afraid this is where my knowledge and advice comes to a shuddering halt.
It sounds to me like some Adobe program (Flash??) on your PC might need re-installing. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can use this information to make a proper diagnosis and offer a solution.0 -
Could be worth exploring O2's messageboards (if they have any) to see if other users are reporting the same problem in that case. I did try a quick Google but didn't get anywhere.0

I'm with 02 and had the very same problem. Apparently they have installed new servers but are having problems with them. There is a temporary fix detailed on the 02 forums which I tried and it works :T . You will need to register on the 02 forums, then go to the broadband forum and then to 'broadband hints and tips', then find the thread 'how to use Open DNS'. It's a simple fix and only takes a minute.
Hope this helps0 -
i've kept trying each day, and my son beat me to it today  and told me they were back on:j0

Yes, this is an O2 problem, There are many threads on the internet, here is one of them.
No news on when they hope to resolve it though.0
