Travel Republic - anyone used?

I've found some good offers on Travel Republic but when I spoke to a local travel agent, they claimed they'd heard a lot of bad things. I think this is just conjecture, trying to put me off, I just wondered if anyone on here had used them before and what kind of experiences you've had.

I've used them with no problems a few times. see them mentioned on here quite a bit too with good deals etc . Think they just have good offers tbh!
  • I did think it was just a bit of sour grapes on behalf of the Travel Agent, I think their business probably gets quite a dent from online operators. Always worth checking out though.

    Thanks.

Ditto everyone else, used them for most of my holidays in the past 4 years...never had a problem with them at all - and always find their rates to be the most reasonable

  • I used them in July, very good, got the flights and hotel...even the taxi sorted with them...although wish I hadn't had bothered with a taxi rather expensive...but it was for a birthday present so can't complain!
  • I used them to book a trip to cyprus to see my Brother get Wed

A month before I was due to fly out XL went bust along with my holiday. Travel republic sent me SMS messages to my mobile giving updates the upshot was if I rebooked via their site (and a different operator obviously) they would refund my prior payment. I checked but price was double what I had payed and I managed to find holiday around 10% cheaper than what I had paid originally to travel republic via olympic holidays. So I booked via Olympic and emailed Travel Republic explaining I couldnt afford to pay double so I had gone elsewhere and please could they refund anyway. Couple of days later refund came through.

Of course they didnt have much choice as I had paid by credit card but its nice that I didnt need to threaten them with that

I've used them to go to Lanzarote twice; found them very good value and had no problems, and would use again.
