Lifting full gin bottles....hence why my waistline is bulging!!
"Or you can go running, walking and riding a bike for free. In the summer though."
I cycle to work and I also run. I just need major reworking!!!!"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0 -
The Daily Mail yesterday was offering a free gym pass for a week - https://www.dailymail.co.uk and click on offers (although I think you need the token from yesterday's paper). There's a full list of participating gyms on there. It might be worth going along for the week, getting some free advice and continuing with a programme yourself!

WELSH-DRAGON wrote:Hiya Annie - I also PM'd you just incase you didn't see the reply. The offer from New Woman is in the February 2006 issue, page 175 although all the details are on the website: https://www.gymdiscount.co.uk/nw.
Shame there is not one near to me - on the same page was an offer to sign up to screenselect for dvd rentals https://www.screenselect.co.uk - get 5 free rentals and Davina McCalls Power of 3 fitness DVD free of charge, enter promotional code DAVINA when you register - - so guess I will be getting fit at home !!
Glad I have helped - best wishes and Happy New Year
I have just found this reply. I went to shop this afternoon and bought New Woman. But there was only January Issue!!! When does the February issue is coming out? Is it coming earlier for subscribers - that is why WelshDragon got it already?.....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
The offer is £18.99 for weekend membership, I got all excited, then I thought - that works out £6.30 ish per visit, if I go every single friday saturday and sunday - which is unlikely. I'm not so sure now, I think I'll go for the freebie month though. Can you bail out after the month, or are you committed to a membership? If not, I'll go for top of the range free for a month!0

Hin ginvzt I have just got in from the office and have PM'd you. Yes I receive this magazine on subscription but all the details are shown on the website given at the beginning. I believe that you have to sign a DD and cancel within the first 3 weeks to get the membership free. Hope this helps

Sure I am not the only one.... But I need to go.
Am trying like many to get my life back on track.
There are a few threads I have seen around and about, but am hoping to place them all into one thread, or at least get a combination of the offers/deals/rates of gyms in the UK, for me and everyone else.
Anyone think they know a good offer please post it?!
I have not been before so would be looking for introductory offers but also could look at some Current memeber offers for others.
I have not been to the gym before and don't know what a decent kinda rate would be for a student. So if anybody could help me get some sort of regular benchmark that would be fantastic. Thank you.
I look forward to hearing from people!!0 -
Best offer if you have a Cannons gym near you is with a Nectar Card.
For just 500 points you and a friend get months pass. Only catch is that you cant use the pass 2 months in a row. Your friend should use their voucher the next month!0 -
hi
me too
i have been looking to join dragons in derby but its gonna cost £33 per month.
JJB in derby charge £24 per month but slightly put off that their hot spa and steam room is mixed and I am not that brave to bare my wobbly thighs in my swimsuit in front of the fellas!!
Dragons have seperate sex sanuas and steam rooms.
None of them have any offers at the moment unless someone knows of anything. Are there any free trials to be had anywhere0 -

Local Authorities' leisure cards seem have got better in the past few years - my local authority offers a good deal to uise any of their facilities for about £30/month, and it'll be less if you're a student. I'd certainly look into your local authority's gyms as an option.
If they're no good, I think you could barter quite a bit with gyms and play them off against each other by saying "Gym X is £50/month" so Gym Y may respond by giving you membership slightly cheaper.
I pay £42/month for Bannatyne's. Facilities are excellent. All state of the art cardio equipment, well maintained building, close to work and home, very pleasant pool/jacuzzi/sauna/steamroom, wide range of classes, fitness suites are in excellent condition. I never thought I would say this, but I truly think the £42/month is excelllent value.
For that I also get fitness assessments as often as I want. There are always staff readily available to ask questions and the customer service from the non-fitness staff is excellent.
Appafrently the £42/month is a corporate rate for certain companies - but I am not in one of those companies, just happened to be visiting that certain company on business and Bannatynes were there on marketing.....
I reckon their rates are pretty fliexible.....it's all a sles pitch too so try to see through it and get the best value for money.
But, sorry, no codes. :rolleyes:A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.0 -

Monthly guest pass is 2000 points, it's 500 points for 1 days guest pass (both for up to 2 people).
That is unless there is an affiliate offer which I haven't seen that boosts the deal even further! :-)0
