Can't stop to chat right now . . . must be in front of the TV ready for the haka . . .

On a tight schedule today - setting the timer for myself whilst on the computer so I don't waste too much time on here.

    Be back later . . .

soappie, sounds like a challenge for you, saying look this is a pile of doggydoo without being direct isn't easy. You don't strike me as the type of person who tip toes around others easily. I think the ACPO is followed in all forces, cases have been flung out of court before when it wasn't IIRC http://www.speedlimit.org.uk/faq.html . It could have been ANPR because they are using it a lot in many forces now.

    pigpen PM sent

DS2 collected, need to feed both boys now, food cooking, bit late but traffic was chaos!

Oh and I was just on the phone there to some research company who phoned asking about satisfaction with a policy I recently took out, think she might be joining Quidco :rotfl: when she got to 'why did you take the policy out' and I answered 'because it's costing me £32 for a years insurance' she wanted to know more!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Right have checked order with HMV and the order logs one item; a check on my bank account shows I have paid for 1 item so, tempted though I am to e-bay the surplus one:rotfl:, I have contacted HMV to advise them of their error.
Friends 10 DVD box set, it is...
Have NO intention of phoning them...I am a meanie and am not going to be out of pocket sorting this if I can help it...
Wonder if they'll thank me for being honest and let me keep it?
Have just remembered - it's unsolicited goods (well it is if I order one and they send two) ...there's a law...now what was it...

    ha ha!
but they are not unsolicited then until HMV demand payment for them -
    Unsolicited Items

Under the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971, (as amended) it is an offence to demand payment for goods known to be unsolicited, in other words, they were sent to a person without any prior request made by them or on their behalf.

Someone who receives goods in these circumstances may retain them as an unconditional gift, and does not have to pay for or return any unwanted goods. Anyone who receives a demand for payment for unsolicited goods should report the matter to their local Trading Standards Department.
However, in the case of unsolicited goods received before 1 November 2000, the recipient is required to give notice to the sender to collect them within 30 days, or otherwise to wait for 6 months, before being able to treat the goods as their own property.
    that came fromhttp://www.berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/consumers/buying-selling/unsolicited/index.html

These come under a different category...goods sent in error or something...

By the way, does anyone have any advice re: choice of laminate worktops? I really like the shiny granite-look finish but I've been told it scratches really easily. All advice gratefully received!!!

I've got the shiny worktops and they do mark really easily and show up any water marks. Complete pain to clean but they do look good.
