The problem is there is a wall which the consumer cannot penetrate.
My threats of legal action and support of the hundreds of PS3 owners fell on deaf ears. The Times will be carrying this story within the next couple of days so i have thus far achieved national recognition. As far as i am aware there is also legal action pending in Norway due to the same problems. Sony seem to assume that if their update were to blame it would effect all systems indiscriminately. This is clearly not the case.
I could be wrong here. But when I did mine I left it downloading the update then forgot about it. Once I went back it had installed itself (its always 'asked' me first), and the main desktop background was on and all was ok.
Maybe if anything was pressed on the remote it went wrong?
