BEWARE!!
Just because you managed to get all the way to checkout with a PS2 in your basket DOES NOT MEAN you will receive a PS2.
Boots allocate stock to orders completely at random - it seems they put all orders in a hat and if you're very lucky your name gets pulled out of the hat and then you stand a chance of getting what you've ordered.
Don't believe the order tracking page either - it DOES NOT work in real time. I ordered a PS2 on 11th November. It was still showing that the shipment was being processed on 4th December - 18 days after Boots cancelled my order due to no stock (there were 127 in stock when I put it in my basket!!)How do I add a signature?0 -

Even if its an electronic Hat.. why would Boots add a layer of unnecessary electronic gadgetry to determine who gets the order. :-/
If this machine breaks or goes daft ...who knows what could happen. It is an unnecessary thing to repair or deal with.
Whereas ....if they allocate an item with a order confirmation code given, then no-one can complain.

Whatever system they use, it's as good as a hat. I ordered using the free delivery option, got order acknowledgement (note that, in common with a number of online sellers, they do not accept you order until the goods have actually been sent) with a "delivery by" date of 22nd November. I rang on 23rd November to find out why it hadn't arrived, to be told my order was cancelled on the 16th, and they had emailed me to this effect (no email arrived - I know for a fact as I run the email server!!)
Other people that ordered before me didn't receive anyothing whilst others that placed orders after me received theirs.
It didn't seem to make much difference whether you paid for delivery on a specific date or used the free delivery option. How do I add a signature?0 -

mrme is right. Don't get overly concerned but Boots, along with many compaines don't appear to use any real-time stock checking when it comes to their website.
Furthermore just because you get your order in earlier than someone else does not mean you will receive your order over / before them. One reason is that people go for quicker delivery and thus their orders are picked first from the warehouse.
I can vouch for this as I missed out on a camcorder back in the 50% off malarkey a while back.0 -

Not quite the same offer as argos but it looks like index.co.uk have them in stock at 99.99 plus delivery the catalogue number is 180-977. Not sure if it is real time stock but managed to put a few in my basket

Sure index use real time so you have just found somewhere with them in stock, worth a go thanks
Imagine if everyone i ordered from suddenly delivered i would have about 20
(just to clarify i haven't had one yet and i won't be getting 20, I have placed about 20 orders and all of them have been cancelled, I only want two as i have decided i want one as well
) :j :j0 -
For those who missed out on the Boots PS2. Index appear to have them in stock at 99.99 plus 3.95 P&P. I know there are no points reward but if you want one....you want one
