They told me I could deposit by BACS, or sending cheque, as soon as they gave me my account numbers, and that the signed form and id is needed later to fully operate the account i.e withdraw, and since I wont have online banking set up in time I can ring to confirm if they received my initial deposit if I want.0

Yes, I just tried a fast transfer and it showed up in the BOS account immediately. Handy facility that fast transfer, I'll have to look out for an easy access account with that.0

I/We wish to save £________ in a Bank of Scotland Instant Access Savings Acccount Reward.
Signed it and sent it back yesterday.
I'm presuming this is just confirmation of the £5,000 cheque I paid in branch on Monday.
My BOS account did show the £5,000 when I logged in on Tuesday. So was just a little confused as to the... I/We wish to save £________0 -
I applied online on the 12th and received this letter today, which I've signed and sent back.
I notice that when I view this new account on the online BOS service (I already have an old Halifax web saver account) it is marked as "awaiting details". Presumably their waiting to get the signed letter back before activating it.
I'm going to phone BOS first thing tomorrow to see if I can do a fast transfer into the account even though it has an "awaiting details" status.
Sorely tempted to try doing so this evening ...
When I logged on to my online service yesterday, the new account was shown as " "awaiting details". But when I log in this morning , it is shown as "CLOSED"!
I have just received the letter from BOS today.

I'd already phoned them this morning, the chap on the phone couldn't figure out why it was closed. He then went on to open another account for me, I was given the new roll, sort code and account number. When I try to add it from my online view, it says details are not on the system!0 -
Same problem re your latest account, ultrapop!
To fund on time, given the cash was sitting waiting in my current account, I phoned up yesterday and opened online. I was told account would be available online within minutes, as long as I used the "add account" feature.
It wasn't yesterday ... and isn't today ... all I can see is that the £5000 has disappeared from my current account!
Filled in online help request - they said they hope to get it sorted in 3 working days - hmmm, that's the 26th, currently the last day to ensure account is funded ...0 -

Bet they offer some leeway in normal circumstances.
Guarantee they'll give you some leeway if they've debited your other account with the funds! lol0 -
I've had the same problem trying to get my new BOS account to show alongside my other Halifax accounts. Rang up and they said my new account had been opened up under a 'different profile' which was the reason I couldn't add it.
Anyway they seem to have merged the profiles overnight and I can now see the new account. Now there's just the little matter of putting 5k in before Wednesday......
As with others I originally applied for this account online, but then was advised to ring up as it wouldn't open on time. Just hope I don't end up with 2 accounts and more confusion.0 -

I've got two accounts showing on my Halifax accounts list.
The one I opened by phone showing my funds and the one I filled in online which shows 'awaiting details'. The form came today for this, so it took a week to come.
I suppose I'll have to contact them and ask them to cancel the unfunded one that I opened online.0
