9 month bonds

It's shorter than you want but Yorkshire BS E-Bond 5.5% till 30.6.09 is not a bad rate compared to most 9 month fixes around at present.

Former mutual with 3bn in cash on their balance sheet, pretty safe

Can't find any 9-monthers apart from Halifax and Standard Life but did find these (using fsa.gov.uk/tables):

Chorley & District Building Society 6 months 5.75%

Bradford & Bingley 6 months 5.5%

Clydesdale Bank 6 months 5.5%

Yorkshire Bank (not BS!) 6 months 5.5%

9 months from Nationwide. Poor rate though.
