it's okay - they don't teach them how to converse in the training - threatening and aggressive behaviour is their number one priority
"the computer says no" springs to mind......0 -

My point was that if you have told them that you want everything in writing then there is no point in having any sort of conversation with them.0 -
Yeah fair enough that the CSA aren't the greatest - we all know that at times but 15K of arrears?!!!! They haven't just built up overnight and whilst they were building up a child somewhere wasn't getting his/her CSA. Frankly I'm more appalled at that that the tone of the CSA - no wonder they are hounding the NRP.
Why the hell should "£20.00 a week forever" be acceptable? It gets constantly banded round here that the CSA don't do anything to pull children out of potential poverty and then when they do become heavy handed to get arrears they are accused of being uncaring yada yada yada.
They really can't win. No, I'm not their greatest fan by any stretch of the imagination but they are damned if they do and damed in they don't in some cases.
And to top it all little Jess has a step mother who resents the problems these arrears are causing - that's just lovely. Not.
She was here first and yet again it's a NRP who has dived headlong into procreating again without consideration for the first family he created.0 -
AT a rate of £20 per month, the arrears would take over 15 years to pay off, which is much too long by anyone's stretch of the imagination really. That is why they are revisiting cases where agreements had been made - to make the repayment terms shorter because it is not on that children have to wait over 15 years to get what they are due- doesn't help those who never got anything whilst they sat and didn't chase for that time and they should be severely critisised for that (the CSA that is). It really depends on what the cause for the delays have been. If it was down to the CSa then there should be a case for paying up front and then negotiating a repayment deal with the NRP - that way everyone's a winner! Unfortunately this isn't happening - maybe hard lobbying to the Government may make a difference. I am only talking about CSA delays here, not non compliance. I know that there are cases where this does happen, but it needs to be on a much wider scale.0

Well, I waited 12 years to get a letter from the CSA.
Then, it was a case of pay 35k within a week.
CSA definitely are a law unto themselves.0 -
Can I just make 1 thing clear the CSA has not closed down, it is no longer a Goverment department, it is no longer accountable to the goverment or controlled by the goverment, legislation is changing but will take a long time. Don't wait 12 years for the CSA to contact you if you know you have children.
Hard as it may seem when your marriage is breaking down try and come to an agreement about supporting your children and previously unless your ex was on benefits they did not have to come to the CSA only those on benefits were forced to use the CSA, now no-one has to use them.
Why did it take 12 years for the CSA to contact you? How hard was it to find you was it really all the CSA's fault?0 -
I have given my reasons in a thread on page 20
