Bring a smile to DFW's - what silly thing have you done when trying to save money?

Hi
I just thought we could all do with some cheering up, I've become a real electricity saving freak (solely electric house) the other day I had finished sorting out the washing so I walked to the kitchen door, switched the light out and closed the door... at that point my DH went "hu hum i'm still in here" :rotfl:

I thought i'd share I keep doing things like this for example our hall light and landing light both go on and off at same time (same switch old house). The other day I was upstairs (late evening) decided to come downstair so switched the landing light off only to realise I'd left myself in the dark.....

What can I say!

Pip

sometimes i too turn the light off when my other half is in the room!

It's a natural reaction to walking out the door isn't it!

cut mouldy bits off bread to make my sandwiches for work to save buying any more that day or the cost of actually buying pre made sandwiches.

pinch other peoples coffee at work to avoid buying my own

shop at Waitrose!!!......yes I know but it is SUCH a moneysaver, there are never any really good offers so not tempted by the crappy 2 for 1 offers and everything is a bit more expensive so you question EVERYTHING you put in your trolley. I save £10-£20 per week on my shopping bill every week when I go there (budget £80 per week)

My uni son & I used to joke that he was the local connection for the Cartahegna cartel!

I tend to sit in the dark. It's only when DSno2 comes home at 4.30 that he switches them on, but then like the well trained boy he is he then turns them off again leaving me in the dark:rolleyes: .

Not exactly the same, but the other week I saw a poster saying 'double your credit double your credit' and thought to myself how irresponsible etc... then realised it was for a PAYG mobile and therefore was actually quite mse.

Not me, but I'd thrown away the toilet roll tube and bf took it out of the bin saying 'there's a sheet still on it'. It's the last one though, the one stuck to the tube so it's only really half a sheet, but apparantly I was wasting money throwing it away...
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
