I've got it back,can you advise me what I should have running from start up in relation to anti virus,spyware etc and what should just be run say every week.

I see you only have 1GB ram running Vista. I would advise to upgrade it to at least 2GB. This should make it run faster.

try https://www.crucial.com to find the required ram and how much you can have, then do a search to find the cheapest price.

I agree with Millionaire
1 gig isnt really enough for Vista

As for the rest, its ok as it is. Personally I run the scanners once a month (Never run 2 at the same time as it stresses the hard drive)
If you believe theres something nasty on your drive then obviously run straight away. But if your happy stick with monthly (These people who scan EVERY day are just shortening their hard drive lives)
