A car boot sale is great if you have LOADS of stuff - means you can get rid of most of it at once, and don't have to faff about with postage.

I sell my clothes in bundles.
At the moment I have bundled them together so that 10s, 12s and 14s are in seperate bundles.
However if you find the bundles to be too big then you can split them so that for example, all size 12 dressy clothes are 1 auction. All size 10 exercise clothes are another etc etc...

Is that right? I have loads of clothes allso and was going to list the separately - what do you get for a bundle? How do you group them?
I've tried doing both and I've always found selling separately works better.

I think it's the wrong time of the year to sell. Everyone is recovering from xmas. Leave it another month or so.

Have you set your start price too high? I always start everything at 99p, even designer stuff and I've noticed that it gets much more interest stright away. Also you did include a photo? I only ask, as sometimes I've seen items for sale with no photo, and they don't tend to get any bids.

I've sold clothes on ebay successfully before, maybe it was just the timing that was out! I always put pictures and start at between 50p and 99p... Maybe I'll try again in a few weeks!
  • Another point - one of the suggested searches that comes up on the home page every so often is something like "Women's fashion with no bids ending within one hour". Customers clicking on that will be shown items including the word "fashion" in the title, so if you have room for it without missing out anything important, it's worth including "Fashion" in the title.
Btw I got £20 among my Xmas pressies and I'm 31, so it's not necessarily just the youngsters! At this time of year, though, you're competing against shop clearance sales, which may be offering new clothes for not much more than secondhand on eBay when postage is taken into account.

Where I live (Bucks) there are boutiques/shops which sell clothes, shoes, handbags etc. on your behalf and take a %. These do tend to sway towards the designer gear, M&S etc.

why not try a clothes swap party? it wont make you any money, but you should get a few new items to add to your wardrobe! All you need is a few mates who are roughly the same size, get them to sort out all their unwanted clothes and accessories, set a date and hey presto!
