    HELP!! I need all your advice!!
    I am thinking of doing the live on £4000 in 2009 challenge as I figure it would be helpful for when I am gettting no maternity pay BUT it looks really scary!!:eek:
    Have any of you looked into doing it? Do you think its manageable?

    Really think I would like to try but want some second, and third and fourth, opinions so sorry going to post this plea for help on all your diarys!!!
    Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] :eek: £5700
    :TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

    2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!
  • I just had a quick look, can you change that amount to what you want?? I noticed the first lady had everything like gas and elec and water included. plus house insurance and tv etc etc all of mine for just them kind of things would take me over the £4000........im not sure i could stick to it....bad i know but what if dh got a lovely nice bonus and we wanted to go away on holiday or spoile ourselfs a little (i no 100% should go to the debts but everyone needs a treat now and again :) )

    But i say go for it if you think you can stick to it!

    today logged on to the scratch card and they had added £1, i thought they did it once last week aswell so not sure hwat thats all about but i wont moan!!! :) i managed to withdraw the £10 min amount so will be happy when thats in my bank...

    Checked online banking and i think we will be on our way to getting the £800 for curries paid when dh gets paid and then i will do a budget for jan which can hopefully be without using any cc!!!!!!!! i really hope we can do it and not add any debt to the cc for 2009!! I might use the tesco one to do the shopping but pay in the amount before i spend it so that i get the extra points (but only if this works out that i dont spend more because its on the cc...but im sure i will stick to it as im so determind to do our best!!)

    Dh has said he doesnt want to worry to much about the debts etc till after xmas but then he will go through everything with me and work with me to dealing with the debts! so im glad we will be working together and he will be aware of what we owe etc as at the moe he knows its a lot and needs dealing with but he doesnt want to know exactly how much etc etc....so he might be in for a schock in the new yr!!!

    I want dh to be paid already so i know what we have and can start sorting out the budget (and just incase there is a little bonus in there!! doubt it but he normally gets one so we never know. Maybe the wife that said they wasnt getting one wasnt right........thinking its wishful thinking.....:))

    Anyway going to go and do some clicks and see if there is any surveys etc.

    MUST take the dog to get cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hope the dog is looking chic with their new do!!

    I dont think I could include my gas and electirc in the £4000 but might try and do it for all the other stuff. Think I have come to the conclusion if I put in for it and dont manage it what have I lost? I just know how tight its going to be when I am getting no SMP so thought it might put me in good stead for that.

    I got a free £1 on the bingo site too, like you I am not complaining!!

    Thats fab that you might not have to put Curries on your CC, keeping using the Tesco one for tesco stuff is a good idea as you get more points dont you. As long as you set aside the amount each time I am sure you will be fine.

    Be nice to have your OH helping you with the debts too, although sometimes may be a hindrance!! I sat and discussed £4000 challenge with my OH and he said lets look at the figures and see.

    Fingers crossed the wifey was wrong about the bonus!!

  • i am going to sign up for the scratchcard when my pooter is no longer poorly sick!! its good that your oh's are interested and are willing to help to pay them off, my oh is not interested and tunes out now when i start talking about it, think i am boring him now............... i think you can change the amunt on the £4k challenge, some people include child benifit and tax credits and some people dont include essentials like mortgage and gas and elec!

  • thats what my oh is like at the moe but says he will be interested after xmas!! so fingers crossed he willl.

    well why when im trying so hard do things come up and bite us!!! driving from taking the dog for her cut (i remembered!!!) to pick dd up from school and my stupid car just stopped!!!!! going like 70mph but lucky i was in the slow lane otherwise i dont know what i would of done as all the power streering went so was really hard to turn the car! managed to cruise just into the lane to leave the rd!!! bloody thing!!!! dd2 was alseep in the car but i had to wake her up and get her out, it was freezing and she was soooo upset! bless her, she hates load nosise so the lorries wizing past were scaring her( but as they say dont stay in your car coz someone could not notice you and hit you!! So phoned the rescue people and they took forever!!!! lucky dh got there first so managed to pull off the rd and find me a layby where me and dd could wait safe and he waited on the side of the rd!!

    Anyway they got it going but its not right so we have to take it back to a garage (dh on the phone to them now!!!) We think its the same thing as when we were on holiday! The garage there cost us a fortune and i bet they havent done a bodge job as they knew we lived far away so wouldnt be back to moan about it!!!!:eek:

    So just what i need before xmas! no way of getting food shopping or the rest of my presents and a expensive bill which will need to be put on the cc!!!!!

    Also dh got beers and coke and chocolate last night and we even got a curry as i wasnt cooking when i got home!! so spent loads of money!!!!!

    Oh no mummy you poor thing I bet that terrified you, it would have me.
    At least you managed to get to the side safely and no one was injured, it could have been worse if someone had hit you.

  • rags i hope you get that big money win soon!! and dont forget your dfw friends;) ;)

    Well had a nother fun day!!! Was going to go shopping with dh to get some last xmas bit, DD says she doesnt feel well and is sick everywhere!! all over poor dh, then I was trying to help but also ended up being sick!! so wasnt very nice. Dh ended up staying home with the kids and i went out by myself, Got lots of cheap things from wollworths including some bits for the baby that were 60% off, so got a bargain and also the first little bits i have brought for this baby! :D did notice i got a big pack of 6 muslims that were reduced to £2 so got them, then didnt think till got home that half are white and half are PINK!!! so if its a boy it will have some nice pink bits.......

    Well poped into MRT to get some bits and i fell over landed with my belly on the basket and it really hurt, had a look on the floor and there was water on it!!!! Also some one asked if i was ok but it was just a shopper and not any staff (even though there was one at the woopsie bit which is where i was going!!!) I just got up and rushed about and went, in pain and trying not to cry!! Dh said i should of complained as the floor was wet!
    Because i am Rh Neg i have to have a anti D injection if i have a fall like that so spent the evening in the hospital getting checked out!! Lucky baby seems ok im just a bit bruised and have a hurt ankle!! and im mad at mr T...

  • forgot to add on my last rant my mse efforts for today! Well i sorted through some paper work that i hadnt bothered looking at for ages and found:
    * £11 in tesco vouchers!
    * £50 theater voucher!
    * £25 Debenhams voucher!
    so all good, also found some money of vouchers for boots and my lost boots card. and i still have some to sort through so you never know might find some more..............

    Also today i returned some xmas lights that dh brought that were broken and we didnt really need in the first place so got £17.99 refunded.
    Returned some trousers dh insisted he needed for his xmas do and then never wore, and they were £20 on the ticket but i brought them when they had a 20% of day or something so only paid £15 for them but they refunded it at the full cost!! so made a £5...

    think thats it......
