Hello mummy, i bought a slow cooker the other day and i haven't used it yet. I love curry and chilli con carne, please may you tell me how i do it in the slow cooker? Thanks0
-
I just do it the same as i would if cooking it on the hob. But in the slow cooker, not sure for how long etc as i just play it by ear and have it high if i need it done quicker and low if i put it on early!! sorry not much help
Well i just got a email to say i sold a book on amazon!!!! Yeah im so happy and i think i get £5 something for it which i then have to send it aswell so should make about £4 so not to bad and it was a book i was given so i can add it to my money for nothing challenge!! Yeah i wont add anything till i get the payment and have sent it etc so i know how much for but i am so happy it sold!!!!GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. yay on selling the book!!!!!! £4 is better than nothing and more than you would of got at a car boot sale.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

yeah its better then it hanging round my house - we have to much stuff as it is so one less thing to clutter up (even if it is just a book!!!) Sent it of today and had a look on the amazon site and they pay you 14 days after setting up a sellers account so have to wait a little while before i will receive it.
Today we had someone come round about switching electricity and gas (my uncle knows them and they live in the village so nice to use local person,,,,) We havent swapped yet as he is going to come back when i have got a recent bill sorted and found out when i have been with npower a yr, so i dont miss out on there bonus - but he went on about how much better the energy light bulbs are etc so as soon as he went dh went and changed all the bulbs he could with the energy ones we had sitting under the staires!!! so it will help a little. He also talked about how much it makes a differnce to have a new bolier and insulation etc etc, so i think we will start saving towards a new boiler once paternity pay is sorted (ours is 15 yrs old so it might go any time anyway!!!) so one more thing to save towards!!! Also got a number for someone to come round look at the double glazing and back door etc, hopefully they can change the hinges on back door to help with draft!! We will see-are luck we will need new ones!!!lol....
Anyway today i have spent a fortune in tesco- but all on things we need and baking bits etc, didnt get any things we didnt really need so thats good (but have just remembered i didnt get nappies!!!!opps) Also spent a lot less then i would of done before lbm!!!
Pad today was £2.56 so not a big amount but all adds up!! I paid for petrol with the tesco cc and my approved foods order so i rounded up the amount spent to the next £5 and paid it off! (Did it so i got a few more clubcard points!! And also like to use cc when online!)
Realised i have already paid over £2000 for the 10000 by 2009 challenge so im really happy with that and well on target, even over target!!!
Dhs bos has really peed me off again today! The money we didnt get paid for overtime last yr dh pulled him up about it and he is trying to say dh is not owed it as it was for some time of he had!! But he already took two sats of which covered that and now is trying to take anouther one of him!!! Also when dh went to the yard today he asked where last yrs diary is (which has the time of and holidays etc!!) And surprise surprise nobody knows where it is!!!!! Needless to say dh has started his own diary for this yr and he will be putting all over time days of ill of for baby etc and holidays!!! I hate to think how much they got away with when we didnt bother looking at what he earnt!!!
Anyway moan over! I have loads i still want to do before bed so i better hurry up with looking round the site and go and do it!!
Hope everyone is ok and doing well......pips mum really thinking about you and Aiden! Bless him i bet he is sooo lovely...
Oh and i think i might have to leave my challenge for the MFN as i cant remember what i have counted etc.....and it seems harder work then the summer sizzler which im still keeping up with all the payments i have received etc.....will see if i can work it all out.GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. hiya mummy, they cant take money off your oh for when your child is ill as we are legally intitled to so may days a year for ill kiddiewinks!! my fella's old job used to do that with overtime so they didnt have to pay.
well done on paying off £2k!!!!!! that is a good amount and keeping it up means you will be debt free in no time. im feeling like i have stagnated a little but think its just midmonth blues. (and the fact that i am quite impatient and its not going as quickly as i would like)
what is the MFN challenge???December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0 -
it was time of for when i was in hospital as he HAD to look after the kids!! OH its gets on my nerves soooo much...and dh is just like i no but what can i do...... bloody have a moan at them!!
MFN is money for nothing where you try and get £1024 in 11 weeks only from things that you have put no money into!! So things like daily clicks and selling presents or things you were given etc etc...But i think i have completly lost what i have got and not so i will just leave that one i think - to many and im lossing where i am with them all...... I changed my GC to over the yr aswell as i think that will work better for me! as i buy things in bulk some mths and wont the next and things like that, like nappies i have to get them which i will get the best deal and then that might last a few mths (esp if i get a move on with the potty training!!! I Want dd2 out of them before baby comes if i can so i only have one in nappies, apart from at night)
I am going on loads again tonight!!! going to go and get the biggest glass of milk as i have bad heartburn!!GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
well ihave been sooo tired today and promised myself i would be in bed by 10 latest, and its now 5past and im on here!! I will write this up then go...
Today i have not done much at all! Dh hasnt said anymore about the overtime so i will just have to wait and see what they say!! He will mention it again before pay day im sure!!
I have gone onto the annual GC but at £3000 for the yr which is £250 a mth, which we would find tight anyway and i forgot to think about the extra nappies formuler etc etc.....opps so now i am not sure if i should up it a little or not.......
Had over £20 worth of £1 and £2 coins in my PAD pot so i changed it for the £20 (I still have left from this week as i havent spent, plus last weeks) notes so i can put them into the bank as soon as i get a chance....and pay of some towards the cc!!
Havent really done any other MSE things today!! I join the Pizza hut for the 50% of voucher so i might treat the girls to a pizza at some point-half price so cant moan...maybe after our free bowling
Anyway better go and go to bed so i can hopefully do more tomorrow - couldnt even face the daily clicks etc today...........GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
well went to the market today and didnt spend a fortune!! was good and only got what we needed!!
Have been thinking about the two mths no council tax, and i will put it towards when dh has time of work i think, also was trying to remember if the water was on a 10 mth aswell??? Cant remember......hope soanyway i really want to have some money sorted for this time of! I no i should be chucking it at the cc, but we really dont want to take it as holiday or end up adding to the debt for the mth he will be paid less......
I have sorted a very few of the baby items out today, found a few tiny bits! still got lots more to sort out but feel glad i did a little.....
Done daily clicks, checked online banking, scratch card etc....all the little bits towards helping
Cooked chicken for dinner so will make something from the left over for tomorrows dinner.
I have a funeral tomorrow but i dont have anybody to look after dd2 so im going to have to go with her - bring lots of treats and sit right at the back near the door so we can leave as soon as she makes ANY noise....
dd1 is at a friends for tea after school tomorrow so no dinner needed for her and also dont have to rush back for the school pick up which is good....
PAD today was £3.40 into pot and also transfered £1.10 (to round down bank account!) into savings.
Need to make a banana loaf tomorrow to use up some bananas before the go horrible! and dd2 likes banana loaf my friend makes but i have never done it myself.GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr.
