HSBC correspondence is annoying and excessive

Options
I've been with HSBC for about 8 years, has been very good until about 3 months ago when they started playing about with their overdraft stuff (I think I seen others on here saying about it).

I don't mind the overdraft changing that much. However, within the past 3 months I've had letters nearly every week with about 10 leaflets titled "Your account is changing". They are not duplicates and they are talking about slightly different things.

It seems you need a rocket science degree to understand most of it as well. I'm feeling a bit harassed and overwhelmed by it. If somethings changing then fine, I know I should know about it, but not a total of about 8 seperate letters.

Cliff Notes : HSBC sending me bucket loads of letters about changes to my account. It's annoying me. End of story.

  • I work in a hotel, an we have about 10 live in staff with HSBC accounts so the staff mail box is bursting lol.

It is very confusing, as you may miss a tiny change in wording that costs you a lot of money.
  • Ask to be put on no contact-mandatory mailings will come out but at least this will limit the amount of marketing you get.
Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!

The thing is, if HSBC doesn't properly inform the customer they can be in deep sh*t.
  • Lokolo - yea, I know. My main point was I realise and accept they have a responsibility to inform their customers, but surely there is a more effecient way of doing this.

Rather than sending out 8 seperate mailings, with 8 different envelopes, letters and leaflets.

To be quite honest I don't care about recieving upto date letters in the post etc. I would be quite happy to be informed by email and such. However, there will be someone who comes along and complains and complains and complains.

As with HSBC now having less statements per period with their accounts (as in paper ones) so are moaning!
  • There is a legal obligation for the bank to inform you of any changes... it just so happens that there have been a few recently.

Check with your branch that you have opted out for general marketing

There are probably 8 different mailings because there have been at least 8 changes and if you read every bit of small print you would see this.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
  • Another two letters received this week!

If it is "junk mail" did you change your preferences??
  • Also, what is the correspondence specifically regarding?
