i've just got off the phone to BT, i have been a bt broadband customer for over 12 months and was looking to change to another provider (maybe madasafish).
i phoned customer helpline to check the package i am on, and explained i was looking to change. transferred onto another department and offered lots of deals to stay, but none really were of advantage to me, and all included a new 12 (or 3) month contract. last thing offered to me was £5 per month reduction in monthly cost (from £24.99 to £19.99) for 12 months with no contract! I took this!!
Just shows, stay on the line, say no long enough and the offers flow!

Where?! I can't find a deal as good as that.0 -
£15? is that UKonline or some next small company? rather go for large, reputable company like BT thou... they wont go bust or have bad customer service0

great to hear better deals available, but i'm not in a cable area, ukonline can offer me same 2meg connection for 24.99/month, and i cannot find anyone better. like most people i want the fastest connection, least limits and least money, my 2mb, 20GB / month (just enough) @ 19.99 seems quite good, and i dont have to have any nasty software on my PC as with AOL.
suggestions welcome.

It appears you don't need to use AOL's software with broadband so may be worth a look.0
