  • i use an apple mac and was with IDnet - a great provider :)
    :j £2 coins = £2.00 :j
  • the only issue ISPs have with mac users is they can't be bothered to train their script monkeys a second trick. so long as you feel competent enough to set up the modem/router, all ISPs are available.
if o2s llu offering is available to you, jump on it!

Just connect any modem to a wireless router & don't worry about what ISP supports Mac's.
  • I use madasafish (BT own them now unfortunately) but they do have folk in an Indian call centre that do actually know how to sort Mac issues... My latest contract is £9.99 per month for up to 8 meg and 5GB download limit... There is a madasafish thread somewhere on the MSE forums if you want some further opinions...

I'm on O2 Broadband and own a MAC. The only difference is that instead of using the Installation CD is that you just set up your router manually. To be honest having just helped a couple of people setting up O2 Broadband on their pcs - it takes three times as long using the cd as it does simply setting your router manually.

The settings I needed for my own mac are on the o2 broadband help page and I havent needed to refer back to them since.
    Waddle you do eh?

    That's pretty much it.

The only problem might be if they supply a USB modem* in which case the modem might not have drivers for the mac OS.

It's the same reason most ISP's don't "support" things like Windows 95/98, the number of people using them isn't worth the time/additional training required for the staff (you can still get windows 3.11 online if you can find an old enough browser, and drivers for a network card).

*Anyone who wants a quiet, reliable internet connection should really be using an ethernet modem or modem/router (as they work independent of the connected machine, with no mucking about with drivers for for it).

O2 don't supply crappy USB modems they supply wireless routers! Your OS is irrelevant.
