It looks like it may have to be the ps3 as Gran Turismo is a must. I thought you could get it for both consoles. Thanks for all the advice guys.Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0

PS3 has free multiplayer gaming if he likes that, if he likes gran tursimo then get the ps3 as gran turismo is exclusivley on the ps3, or he might want to try a different racing game then get him the xbox 360. The ps3 will play dvds and blu ray dvds or the 360 will play dvds and hd dvds(for which you need an add on) and the multiplayer gaming is maximum of £40 a year or £5 a month. Personally id say get the xbox 360 because i have 1 and i am happy with the games ive played on it and with the multiplayer gaming experience but since you mentioned he likes GT then get the ps3,0
