But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today I will:
check online banking
move some money about
update spreadsheets
storecupboard tea
make a loaf in breadmaker
go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
do some batch cooking for freezer if I get time
get some bargain veggies from market
Good morning people,
Going to have a trip into town this morning, not planning on getting much except veggies and stuff from market. Will probably eat lunch out with my friend:D
have a good day everyone and enjoy the weekend:j
Catch up with you ll later.

Hello all, looks like we are all doing some similar cost saving exercises. I've so far updated my accounts, paid a couple of bills and done some tidying and washing. I need to get some Christmas shopping this weekend so I suspect it's not going to be a cheap one. Oh well, at least it only comes round once a year! Plus I'm sure Gordon Brown will probably appreciate me spending money in the current situation rather than saving...or at least that tries to clear my conscience for the inevitable spending!November NSD Challenge! Hiya all
There used to be a daily spend thread, is there still one, or has it fallen by the wayside?
Today I:- Posted on this thread for the first day.
- Did a full week's shop at Morrisons, so I can get a £20 voucher in three weeks (spent £78.75 rather than £40 though!).
- Bought food in to make a curry tonight rather than getting a takeaway.
- Didn't buy DS's friend a birthday card from Morrisons (will get one from corner shop and probably save 50p)
- Didn't buy any magazines / books from Morrisons for myself.
- Bought 2 x Xmas presents for DS1 (12) which were half price at Woolworths.
- DS2 (5) also wishes to have packed lunch at school next week instead of sandwiches so that will save me £6.75 (however the lunchbox set me back £6)
Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230
