            But she is not working!
At the moment.......I do not intend for it to be always like that.
As for the other comment about being fair - no it isn't. I am as intelligent as my brother (if not more so), I was capable of working hard so why not get a proper job and keep it whilst married rather than getting a little job which is of no importance. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0

Apologies Sue, I was being flippant on both of those replies. I know you want to/will work soon, and I totally believe in gender equality (I shouldn't even have to say that), it just seemed a funny comment when you see what some people get up to avoid getting a job.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Yeah.....sorry for my rather stern reply, I was being hassled by the kids!
And agree, some do find it weird that I am trying everything to work when I could just sit on my behind and get the money but that has never been my ethos. I want choice and chances not same old same old collecting benefits and having to stick to that budget....I want to dream.
Arrggghhh you have made me go all soppy now! :rotfl:We made it! Why does it matter what it is called?
 Answer - It doesn't.
Why don't the PC brigade start a Bristol Girls Club?
Answer - It's easier to steal somebody else's club.
 GG
The girls who attend the Boys Club do so for Boxing. Since it's not especially popular among girls I doubt they would have much call for a dedicated club. I'm sure the girls already doing it would be made up if there was one.
I played football for my boys school football team and joined the lads at the local boys club until both found they weren't insured to cover girls and I was asked to leave. There were no girls football teams, either in school or out, so I had to give it up apart from having kick about with the lads at the park.
I think it's a positive thing that the Boys Club be asked to ingratiate girls more."a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

this is obvious, my wife is having to make a difficult decision.
Children or university... and I think it will be children for a few years then maybe uni.... because her clock is ticking and we'd like to start a family. This knocks women back 5-10 years in the progress side of thingas...and longer if they cant return to work quicker.0

I just really struggle with the idea that not going to work is "a backward step in the progress side of things"
Fair enough, if you have a talent that enables you to work at something you love, and get paid for it into the bargain, then yes, everyone (male or female) might work long and hard, just because they enjoy it.
But having to go to work in order to perpetuate the double-income level of housing and lifestyle, instead of staying home and enjoying time with the kids, if you wish to have kids; or getting further education; or running a hobby-based business that doesn't have to make a profit; able to have a sabbatical; etc are all better options that improve the sanity of the population, instead of groundhog days eating up your life.
If kids are growing up seeing the pressure that parents are putting on themselves, just to maintain a myth of house prices and lifestyles, than lord knows what the next generation are going to turn out like.0

I've never had an ounce of mothering instinct ever.
Which turned out fine as I never met a nice bloke.0

 Help.
If your weird I come from an entire family of weirdness.
All the women in my family whether they have children or not work. And some of them are married into the family. My mother worked and so did my aunts. Her mother worked and so did my paternal grandmother........
I actually think in some of my female family members cases due to seeing them with children related to the family it's because they can't stand related brats. Other people's children are fine cos you can hand them back........I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I love working. I really enjoy my job. I'm not saying I leap out of bed saying, "YAY! Going to Feltham Asylum & Immigration Tribunal today!" but I really enjoy it, and I'd miss it like mad if I stopped....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
