Freeview reception?

  • Even if the postcode checker on https://www.freeview.co.uk says NO, there is a more detailed checker at http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html . It gives availability channel-by-channel, tells you which transmitters you can receive from and is updated regularly.

EDIT - it doesn't seem 100% accurate, as I've just noticed it says I can't receive most of the BBC channels, but I do. Still it's better than just "YES" or "NO" :snow_laug
  • Try the predictor at http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tvd.exe? (if that link doesn't work, go to http://www.wolfbane.com and select the digital TV reception predictor) - it usually gives a list of any potentially available transmitters at your location, and a guide to the type of aerial required.

In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice
