Even if the postcode checker on https://www.freeview.co.uk says NO, there is a more detailed checker at http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html . It gives availability channel-by-channel, tells you which transmitters you can receive from and is updated regularly.
EDIT - it doesn't seem 100% accurate, as I've just noticed it says I can't receive most of the BBC channels, but I do. Still it's better than just "YES" or "NO" :snow_laug0 -
Try the predictor at http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tvd.exe? (if that link doesn't work, go to http://www.wolfbane.com and select the digital TV reception predictor) - it usually gives a list of any potentially available transmitters at your location, and a guide to the type of aerial required.There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0
