    Flourgirl,
I'm probably putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 but its been bugging me for a while. Your granddaughter didn't go to a c&cc meet near Cannon Hall on May Day weekend did she? It's just Willow is such an unusual name and it was a folk group meet which rang a bell with you and the Southwell folk event and I think I remember you saying you were a c&cc member but ~I may be wrong.

Oooh no, it must be another one. Yes we are members of C&CC and we belong to the folk section. mmm.... interesting. We have never been to Cannon Hall, is that Barnsley?

flourgirl a huge huge thank you for the beautiful fairy that came with the postie this morning . Kaitlyn is over the moon. she has shown everyone and keeps stroking it .

bunbun thank you to you too for the fab atc that arrived for kaitlyn she thinks she's all grown up now getting her own lol. I have one happy little bunny today.

We went to her mums house today as it's her sisters birthday.

Craftygranny I'm so glad Kaitlyn liked her fairy card. I think the fairy's must have kidnapped it from the post office as I posted it a week ago, first class
The clerk stuck the stamp on and said she would put it straight in the bag:confused: Sorry its taken so long to get to you, I bet Kaitlyn thought I had forgotten her.

I have thought about making my own cards for people but, every craft shop i look in around where i live its really dear to buy the card let alone all the little bits that you would need to go with it, if you were making a lot of cards it would cost a bomb, is card making just something thats special to do for someone or can it be cheap too? i usually buy my xmas cards (for distant fam and friends) for asda 50 £1 something like that, and buy other ones for family. i like all the cards a lot that i have seen made on here though :-)

Hi Maria81 Welcome to the card making thread, you have certainly come to the right place for help and advice, I'm sure lots of lovely people will reply to your post with helpful suggestions.
I can understand how expensive starting a new hobby can be, especially cardmaking as there are so many different elements and styles involved. I know we should support our local economy but I do agree that Craft shops can be expensive. Most of us shop online and use ebay. There are lots of websites and most have a sale from time to time or just free p&p which are worth looking out for. All of us post a linky if we know of any bargains so we can all benefit :money: If your budget is tight it may be a good idea to start with free downloads, there are lots of them, then you will only need the basic tools and lots of double sided tape or look on ebay to see if you can buy a kit cheaply just to start you off. Try selling to family, friends and work collegues for a small profit, then use that to buy something different, until you know what style you enjoy doing most.
Try joining in with the challenges, they are great fun, nobody is judged on there skill level, we all had to begin somewhere and this thread is a great place to start.

OAP - what a gorgeous pocket card from mumhug, the papers are fab :T

MrsTidge - beautiful baby card, it's so detailed :D

It rained here all day yesterday, literally all day . Me and the boys baked biscuits and then ate most of them :o I picked up a couple of cutters in Hobbycraft ages ago, one of a hand and one of a foot and that's what we used plus a bit of icing and lots of 100s and 1000s :D The kitchen looked like a herd of cows had ransacked it but they had lots of fun. It took me far longer to clean up than it took to make and bake the biscuits, more flour went on the floor than in the bowl :p

flourgirl - fingers crossed for nicer weather (don't hold out much hope after seeing the forecast last night ). We are going to a BBQ on Saturday evening and OH is off work next week so we wanted to have a few days out and about.

I finished off my dad's birthday presents yesterday. He has an old age survival kit, a jar of birthday related facts, a sixpence minted the year he was born framed in a mini frame, a CD of music from 1944 and a certificate to say his name is going be be winging its way to Mars :D I'm going to make some sour cream containers with chocs in them as favours for the meal we are going to. Have bought some '65' confetti to sprinkle on the table (if I dare, he may not want everyone in the restuarant to know he's 65 ). Also got some mini sparklers that I am going to ask the restuarant to pop in his dessert so we can sing happy birthday. Oh and going to get a couple of helium balloons for the day.
Taking my finished card order back this morning. Glad to see it going back and looking forward to getting paid ;)

Does anyone have this beautiful stamp. I NEED it... http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/cgi-bin/shop_products.cgi?293
