Making cards - Ideas for a card craft beginner (part 2)

Saveapenny - any holiday would be great at the minute - the last time we went was two years ago, and that was to the pontins in Southport.
EmmaOC- what did you decide in the end - gardening or card making?
Flourgirl - beautiful dalmation cards, I love their sparkly collars. Is the "happy birthday" a stamp or did you print it off?
Bunbun - great spaceman card, I love the bright colours. I was wondering whether you had used your guillotine yet?
Happy birthday Mrs. Tidge!!
Well my lili of the valley order came today - the stamps look fab - I'll have a play with them later!!! The stupid postman managed to bend my parcel, so the few a4 sheets that I'd ordered were bent.
I made my first nappy cake the other day (thanks to some advice from Rusty), and I was really pleased with how it turned out. It was a gift for a friend of my OH. I was a bit worried 'cos I don't know him or his wife, so I didn't know if they'd like it. But apparently she loved it and was almost crying!! The bloke is now asking if I'd possibly make one for him to give to his friend, so I'll probably be looking for some cheap supplies soon!0 -

Here (Above) is my sketch card entry. I think the photos are a bit blurred and the fine ribbon looks a lot darker than it is 'in real life'. In the end I cut down the scalloped card it was going to be because my printer wouldn't colour the edges if only I could remember how to do that. I got my 'threading water' punch last week & used it on the insert just because I could!
This is my craftyplace card swap for May (looks like a drunk put the bags on there!) How & where do I put these cards on Crafty Place please?
This was Gemma's lovely May swap card to me - so well made.0 -
Bunbun - Love your spaceman he's so cute & bright without being garish.
Melissa - I love Southport though it's only a day out for us - that said, I went there for my honeymoon many years ago - In December! It was freezing cold.
Just reminded me when you were talking earlier of heat & discomfort late in pregnancy, my brother was a very hot August baby and Mum wasn't well towards the end. My Dad took her to the Maternity Home on the tram! (it was in the 1950's) - the sister in charge took one look at her & said "You haven't come throgh the streets like that have you" :rotfl:
I'm fancying an order from Lily of the Valley after seeing a beautiful butterfly card on here the other day. (can't remember whose it was - sorry)0 -

Rainmac Great news about the order, your cards are fab so don't be nervous, she wouldn't have ordered them if she didn't like how you made them. My sister has asked me to put a box of cards together and she will take them to work and try to sell them for me, the trouble is I don't really know how much to charge. Most of the ones I have done are the challenge cards or the ones on my blog plus a pile of stitched ones I have. I was thinking £1.50-£2.00 each what do you think?
Flourgirl, your cards are beautiful so I think you can charge at least £2. I am going to charge £2 each for the baby cards, just need to come up with a few designs now - eekk!!! I was thinking of charging £2 or £2.50 when I do the craft fair? Good luck with your card box, I think you will find you will need to re-fill it pretty quickly

npsmama, hope you're having a much better day today, if you fancy a chat about anything you know where I am/we are x
mumhug, I am so sorry to hear the news about your FIL. Again, you know where we are x
Rusty, so glad you are all home safe. You had me welling up reading what you'd posted about your grandad's funeral. I got the stamps from here.
EmmaOC, I'd like to know what won - the gardening or the card making

Flourgirl, I love your dalmatian cards, they are gorgeous
Melissa, I so don't envy you being heavily pregnant in the summer. My boys were born January and March so didn't have much of a bump either time during the summer months but I still had a horrible time  Were your boys on time/ early/ late, just wondered if that would give us an idea of when baby may arrive? My two were both 5 days late.
Bunbun, brilliant spaceman card, I love it, the spaceman is fab :T
Fifi, glad to hear your shoulder is feeling a bit better. I think it's a good idea to take it easy and make sure it's properly better before heading back to work
Marg, fab cards, I love your sketch card, lots of lovely details and the inside is so pretty x
Mrs Tidge, Happy birthday to you, hope you're having a lovely day :bdaycake::wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

What does a 7 year old want on his card? i was going to do doctor who as i know he loves that but i remembered that i did him that last year and my mil has done him one this year. He isn't into any sport so can't do a football one. Any ideas?
Hi Louby Lou Lou - have quizzed my eight year old he says
spacement and rockets
pirates
dinosaurs.
My advice would be - don't spend too much time on it - small boys don't have a very long attention span!0
