Rusty, QVC are having Sizzix session on one of their craft shows on Tuesday, (as per the Sizzix website), Sizzix have a box on their site to sign up for their newletter which will tell you about their promotions. Some are 75% off, can you hear all those dies calling you? :rotfl:

Oooh I really need to forget about this otherwise I will forsee loads of money being spent which I really can't afford!
    Happy birthday Rusty! :j

Glad you got the card on time. Did you notice that there's a free gift with every purchase over £40 on craft superstore this weekend? You should get this set of punches. An extra birthday pressie. :D

I did indeedy see it ;) now sure how good they will be but they look quite funky :)

Thankyou once again for my card :)

I really want to make cards for a good cause. Does anyone know of anywhere I could give my cards to?
I know about the Marie Curie campaign but to be honest I have many, many cards to give and none of the Marie Curie card bags and anyway it says the campaign ended in April.

I don't want to give them to a local charity shop bc I'm worried they will refuse them on account of them not being good enough and even if they did accept them I'd be gutted if I walked in the shop and some stage to find my cards having gone all yellow and dusty from them sitting there for ages without any buyers (I know this is my pride getting in the way).

The only time I ever did a craft stall it was my friend who talked me into it and I only sold ONE card - to my friend's husband at that!
No one has ever asked me to make a card for them even though they know I make cards.

I'm rambling on here...I guess perhaps I shouldn't even try to give them away and just see it as a (very expensive) hobby? I was kind of justifying my cardmaking spending by viewing it as money that will eventually land up for a good cause. But in any case, what would I do with all these cards?? I can't bear to chuck them no matter how bad others may think they are.

Someone on the competitions foreum mentioned postpals, where u send a letter, card, or gift to any sick child listed on their website. You can choose which child to send to after reading their story online. It was mentioned on comps thread for unwanted prizes....
Never used it myself but thought it could be of use for ur stash of cards??

Hope you've had a lovely Birthday Rusty!

Thats a good idea for the cards Kim_P, maybe you could add some kid-friendly images to the cards if you need to npsmama?

Another option would be to hold onto them and use them for birthdays - or to give to Marie Curie next year? You could send just a few to a charity shop (I would do Cancer Research myself) if you wanted to aswell.

BUT please don't put yourself down, your cards are great as are everyones that posts on here, honest! ;)

Npsmama - Don't run yourself down! - I'm sure we are all our own worse critics on here. I think your cards are lovely.
I've got 10 Marie Curie envelopes I can post to you if you pm me your address I'm sure they'd accept cards late - we're only just into June! I had such plans to make loads of cards but just lately have only made when I had to because of no time to play:o

Have the little piggies arrived yet?

What about putting some together and make a gift out of them. I did this recently for my old school teacher and made her 5 cards and put them in a gift box - she was delighted. Handmade stuff is so special and usually the recipient is over the moon.

It's funny because all my family know I make cards and it is only my Mum who asks me for them. My in-laws who all live a couple of miles away always look at my new creations, comment on how nice they are and that is it :rotfl: My SIL saw one that I made at a card course which she took and did not even offer me any money - I hide them now if she comes !

Your cards are beautiful, I have one sitting in my house at the moment ;) I agree we are our own worst critics. I made 2 boxes of cards for Xmas presents and they were very well received. I hope to make at least one more this Xmas as I like making the cards and think it makes a nice present. I think donating cards to a charity shop is a great way to give to charity. Please don't give up as your cards are gorgeous and you are obviously very talented :A

Edit: Nobody asks me to make cards for them either. I did used to do a few for a couple of people but after having a disaster at a craft fair many moons ago it completely knocked my confidence and I said I would only make them for me to give. I have got over this and doing another craft fair in August!

npsmama - love the quilt cards on your blog, they are gorgeous and I'm going to have to nick that idea from you if that's ok as it is very effective ;)
