I'm ashamed to say that (many years ago) I used to be afraid of spiders. I'll catch them now (with a glass), but once had a monster on my bedroom curtain - and sprayed him with hairspray until he was dead
Now I can handle anything except butterflies.
Mumhug - I'm not sure exactly what mounting board is. Would heavy cardboard do the job?some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Actually what I wrote above is not true. Every week when I have to empty the bin I tell my son "this is a mans job" but apart from that......0

I'm with you with the butterflies JHB - I fel like a right idiot when my son goes into butterfly houses and I loiter outside. Better than than what I've done before where I gripped his hand like it was the end of th world and marched through the butterfly house at top speed. We went to Blenheim palace earlier this year and whilst I was waiting in the shop at the end of the butterfly house, a man walked out then walked back in again and pointed out to the attendant that he had a butterfly on his coat. It was 6-8 inches big. I did a mini squeal and legged it from the shop :eek:0 -
dawnteabag don't worry hun I have been known to hoover spiders up if hubby isnt here then plug it with tissue in case he crawls out.
when i was heavily preg with my ds I turned on my pillow and came nose to face with a huge spider. I very nearly gave birth there and then.
Jailhouse I can but try i think I may try it with thick cardboard and see if it works. In Perfect love and Perfect Trust.0 -
Ah = i'd thought of the hoover - I've done that before, and with moths and wasps - but honestly, I don't think he would fit up the nozzle on my full sized dyson!0

dawnteabag - you're braver than me, I couldn't go anywhere near a butterfly house. I would kill anyone who tried to get me anywhere near.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0

I was determined that I wasn't going to pass on my fear to my son and I am a lot better than I used to be. I watched a documentary about phobias where this woman was talking about being on the beach on holiday, being swooped on my a seagulll and RUNNING back to her hotel only to realis when she'd got there that here 2 or 3 yo child was still on the beach!
I was detrmined then that I'd break it but its soooo hard. I'm even scared of ladybirds. How pathetic is that!0 -
Right - I've been checking every 3 mins and he's finally gone. Quite where I don't know so I think I'd better try and get some work done in that kitchen.
If I find him again you'll hear me scream!0 -
Good Morning Everyone
I fought the urge to turn the computer on yesterday afternoon/evening as I had a serious amount of washing and cleaning to do. I did it all apart from the bathroom which I loathe doing. When I win the lottery I am getting a cleaner :rotfl:
I have had a very quick catch up with my coffee.
Rainmac - Your cards are so beautiful, I have commented on your blog
Flourgirl - Thank you so much for your emails, I did some colouring last night but only had the lamp on. I have looked this morning and I should have turned on the main light as it looks shocking !
Paddingtondoo - I am not a follower of your blog, I am sorry that I missed you. I have left comments on some of your cards and will comment on the rest later. The minimal one is my favourite.
Dawnteabag - Your son is so talented, I have left him a comment on your blog. You were very brave re: the spider - I would have died on the spot ! My son is just discovering creepy crawlies when we are in the garden. His Dad showed him how to dig up worms when he came home on leave - I now have holes all over my flower beds !
JailhouseBabe - thanks for the idea for the Fathers Day card. I will get my thinking cap on.
It does not look like it is going to be a very nice day today which means only one thing - crafting :T. In second thoughts, two things - bathroom cleaning and crafting.0 -
