Thanks guys I've posted around here a few times before (re: crimpers) but it moves a little fast for me to keep up with properly
Don't you think there should be a Craft section in the forums? Are we able to suggest this to someone? then we could have more organised threads with specifc purposes (at the mo the few there are seem to be for any craft themes/talk )0 -
hi just wanted to re-ask my question about embossing, do i need differednt coloured stamps and powders or will a clear powder go with any colour stamp?
also what about clear stamps and different embossing powders? which is the best option?
also i have joined blogland!

Hi,
I personally prefer to use coloured ink with clear embossing powder - that way if it gets on the card or whatever it doesn't show as coloured bits.
I have used coloured embossing powder but have found the image isn't quite so clear - not sure if that makes sense.
Also it's cheaper to buy ink pads than embossing powder that you might only use once or twice.
HTHOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi Alison I think you meant to say ink rather than stamp; on that basis:
Clear ink with coloured embossing powder gives the same colour as the powder
Coloured ink with clear powder gives a gloss effect with the ink colour showing through
If you try coloured ink with a pearl powder you get a pearlised effect of the original ink colour (when I tried orange ink with white pearl powder I got a pearly peach colour)0 -

Paddington made a good point there: I have many coloured inks but only basic embossing powders. (clear, white, black, gold, silver & pearl)0 -
