Rainmac -absolutely beautiful things, your Mum will love them!! The basic grey papers look fantastic, like you I am using them in everything that I make at the minute! I recognise those ladybirds - are they the wild saffron ones???

I found this in a magazine a few years ago. I don't know who wrote it so can't give them the credit. I hope it's ok to post it on here. Could this have been written for you?

    The Crafterholic’s Prayer

    Dear Lord
I’m going to need some notice
    Before my day is done.
    You see, I’m a crafterholic.
A fact not known to some.
My craft room, it is bulging
    All corners, crannies and nooks
There’s loads of boxes under the bed,
I hope no one ever looks.
    I tell myself when shopping,
    “No more craft bits today”
But craft shops are like magnets
    Drawing me their way.
    I’m totally at their mercy
Just “need” a dozen of each.
Then hurry home to hide them
Before the family start to preach.
So Lord, I’ll need a little time
To dispose of all this stuff.
And Lord, can we keep this
    Between the two of us.
loving this poem :D thanks for sharing , think i will print it off if you dont mind and pop it in nice frame's for mum and sisters craft room

    Hi all

Princesspopypop your card is gorgeous your friend will be over the moon I bet...

Rainmac you have one lucky Mum, the card and box are great....

can anyone point me in the direction of how you make an exploding box? I do have a 'crafters companion pro' which I think is supposed to help me with it but I don't know where to start and would love to make one for my friend who had a bad accident.....

That poem is fab btw, what a great idea to frame it for a craft room...

    xx

If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel
  • try this template for an exploding box, it does cost 1.99 but it makes it so easy to do a box and of course you can use it time and time again.

I did use the pokey tool, it was really easy and made lovely neat holes, I am a pokey tool convert now, no more craft knife for making holes :p :rotfl:

Sorry, should have posted links :o, I used the instructions on this site for the exploding box and this site for the square around album.

This site has loads of ideas for making your own mini albums, all could be given as a card/present.

Thank you for the lovely comments, I really enjoyed making both of them and can't wait to make more non-traditional shaped cards!!!
