OK this is an image that I got from the Docrafts website and this is the design that I based my card on.

This is the one that I have done so far but it needs something and I am not sure what.

Fab card Zoe, as always - I love the way you always try different kinds of cards. I don't think it is missing anything at all.

How have you done your flowers - with punches or is it a template and you cut around it?
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Can I ask what to you all will prob be a really stupid question:o - I am making my first card (woo hoo at last :rotfl: ). Its a decoupage card and I've got all the shapes cut out but I'm not sure how many glue pads to put on each bit. I presume I don't cover the whole back of each piece ??

I always put them around the edge of the image and a few in the middle so the middle doesn't drop down hth

Need you help please ladies :D
How can I stick this down? I would like to make a proper fastener but not got a clue

I can't get onto photobucket again  - so am talking blind here :rotfl: - are you trying to make a handbag closing for a bag card?

The last one i did I used double sided tape on one side and single sided normal tape for it to stick to.

not sure if the helps or not :o
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • Hi all - I feel so behind already! I'm struggling with the challenge; I thought I knew what I wanted to do but then the papers just didn't look right. Then uni gets in the way .... and don't even mention housework

minimacka - great cards; my favourite is the birthday card, I love the black detail in the bottom corners and the paper is fabulous.

Julie - your Easter card looks very professional, I'd be looking for the barcode if you gave that to me ;)

furry - hope you're having fun.

mumhug & CT - Well done! :T Can't believe you got your challenge cards up already. I have those tags CT, but haven't used any yet. Like you say, 'one day'.

s_michaels - love your cards. I've never bothered adorning the insides of any of mine (too lazy :o). I'll have to pm you for that password.

gorgusslass - hello! You'll never have time to get anything done now - ever! (Except for cards of course).

Zoe - I agree with saveapenny; lovely card, maybe contrasting pink paper to emphasise the waves. Of course, it could be that we just can't see the contrast very well as it's a scanned image - in which case just ignore me!

saveapenny - Love your challenge card, is that the pink petticoat free flower download? I know what you mean about glitter. I bought a couple of squeezy bottles of glitter glue, but when I tried to use one for subtle dots it just splurted out everywhere. Think they might go into a crafting kit for friend's LOs birthday :p.
Also, thanks for setting the challenge (not sure if I said that already, but 1 more thanks won't hurt). I would have suggested the same thing for the handbag card, a brad or a button with either a look of ribbon or just a length trailing down below the floer that can be wrapped around said brad/button.

Okay, have repetitive strain injury from all that typing now - apologies if I missed anyone out :o
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

soblivion - welcome back, and can't wait to see what you've created using your crop o dile!

minimacka - gorgeous cards, the pink one one with the big black bow is my favourite :)

Julie H - loveley easter card, it does look just like embossing!

mumhug - beautiful purpley card, i love the big daisies you've used :) I really want some flowers to use as embellishments, maybe out of next month's budget :rotfl:

CT - love your pink girly card, I love making femlale cards, mens are so boring! plus most of the men I know dont like the usual male card things like fishing/football/cricket etc so I usually get a bit stuck

gorusglass - welcome to the thread!

ZLS - wow, that cupcake card is making me hungry! and it just so happens that I've got a cadburys creme egg in the kitchen calling to me to eat it....

sorry if I've missed anyone out, all your cards have been fabulous as always!! :T

I must try and do less cooking and washing and spend more time on here, so I dont have so much catching up to do all the time!

Hi the waves look better when it stands up but it had to be squashed flat to fit in the scanner.

I am going to try and make them stand out more, will have a play with it later. Just made a little bookmark to go with it, I may place it on Ebay and see what happens lol.

I hope you dont think me rude but .....

Can i ask do any of you actually make money on your cards ?
Only i have been making cards for four years on and off and i have never actually found somewhere that i can sell.I dont charge lots maximum of £1.50 but never seem to have any luck.My mil and i did a craft fair in november but it cost £30 for the table and really didnt make much on the cards as there were 6 other stalls selling them:eek: .

I would like to make enough to keep buying materials not looking for a business .Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Do you know someone who works in a office or hospital? Have you got a local florist that would have some of your cards in a box on the counter?
How about doing postcards or flyers for local shop widows.
