    Haven't read all the other replies but I'm sure you've had some fantastic replies. I'll probably be repeating some but here goes...

    Your attitude is great and you are doing really well with dealing with your debt. And taking the decision to spend a year at home with your child was a very brave one (and one I'm very jealous of!!) That time with your child is precious. NOTHING is more important than that.

    I wouldn't worry what your friend thinks. Everyone is different. Not everyone can afford to have savings etc. My mum often reminds me when she and my Dad were my age they quite often had not even a penny left after all the bills went out. Now they live quite comfortably in a house they've always wanted.

    So chin up, battle on. We're all here to help you!
