Accidental Death on an Aeroplane Flight Insurance Only
Comments

Possibly, but at least I feel in control. On a plane, that feeling of slamming on the brakes, to stop flying into the plane in front, is not a pleasant one.....especially as the brakes dont usually work in the air.illegitimi non carborundum0

Your life/travel insurance may cover you already, may be no point in buying another policy.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

You say you have travel and life insurance already so why seek a third policy which would only overlap the other two?
How about making sure travel insurance covers you in the (much more likely) event that Virgin Atlantic go bankrupt, as not all travel insurance policies cover that.0 -
VA go bankrupt, I claim on the credit card.
The reason why I want this additional insurance is because both me and my missus are going, without the kids. If only one of us went down, the existing insurances would be fine. As theres the small chance that we will both go down together, I wanted to top up my insurances.
This isnt like me, as I dont buy insurance for tellys, washine machines, ovens etc etc, however this is a possibility that I cant really "self insure" against.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Please can no-one else question the need for the additional insurance......take it as a given that I want it.......anyone any suggestions how I best fulfil my requirement?illegitimi non carborundum0

my advice would be to upgrade to a premium policy with your original supplier, if you have life insurance then that policy would pay out on your mortgage etc leaving nothing for your kids to worry about. Are you wanting to be covered for a certain amount or something? I dont get what yor really wanting from the policy??I am a Travel Agent
My company’s ABTA numbers are P6046. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
A ten year old with a mortgage paid off, but no parents, is not what I would describe as nothing to worry about. Whether they go to live with family or friends, someone is going to have to upgrade their house by a couple of hundred grand for the extra bedrooms.
Plus I would like something for the kids to inherit when they come of age.
Dont want to add to the normal life insurance as that is too costly for what I want......which is additional accidental death cover for a couple of weeks for the unlikely event that a plane goes down.
This cant be the first time anyone has asked for this?illegitimi non carborundum0 -
So what happens if you get where you are going and you step out into the road together and get mown down and killed by a huge lorry? Do you have adequate insurance for that too?0

I cant help with the one flight cover, just thought I would say I know what you are on about.
say you have 100,000 cover for £20-50 a month, thats affordable, £500,000 of cover for a term of a policy would be very expensive. So a separate short term policy would be ideal.
The guy just wants a accidental death policy for the period of his holiday could anyone help him?0
