Accidental Death on an Aeroplane Flight Insurance Only

Couldnt find this in any of the travel insurance threads.
Mrs Frog and I are going away without the tadpoles. Have normal travel insurance policy, but wanted to top it up with one that paid out in the event of the aeroplane going down and taking us with it......bit morbid I know but we've never travelled together without the kids.
Any recommendations.....presumably it should be really cheap for cover for say £500,000 as the chances of aeroplanes going down are negligable.

Let me know what flight you are on so I know not to book
Seriously, normal travel insurance should cover you for this, also if you have life insurance, this would also pay out in those circumstances.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Check your life insurance, and if you don't have any, get some.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Get life insurance for the whole of your trip. Statistically, you are far more likely to be injured during the drive to or from the airport than on the actual flight, and the consequences for your children would be exactly the same.0

Are you planning to fly with the Xtra-Dodgy Airline company than?
The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have life insurance and travel insurance that will both pay out. I remember from previous trips there was forms you could fill in at the airport to buy additional cheap "flight insurance" for death cover only.....just wanted to take it out in advance to make sure the tadpoles are well provided for.
Driving to/from the airport, Im fairly comfortable that I am in control....flying in a plane, it often feels like the pilot has slammed on the brakes!!!
So, no-one any recommendations?
Oh and BTW, Im not concerned at all that the plane will go down.....I just want to ensure that if it does, theres more than enough for them to live on.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Have you also taken out insurance in case you are both hit by lightning tomorrow, or knocked over by a bus, or ravaged by a syphilitic hamster, all dangers that are probably more likely than going down in a plane crash. Unless you are planning lots of domestic flights in West Africa?0

Nope. Virgin Atlantic. As the chance is so remote, Im expecting a million quid of cover for a tenner or so......a small price to pay to provide a significant level of financial security. Surely there are insurance companies willing to take that end of the gamble?illegitimi non carborundum0
