Forgive me if I've got this wrong, which I admit is quite possible.

This appears for to be a decent free phone with 12 months free calls if you stick to the inclusive mins. Am I missing anything?

Seems a good deal - has anyone used them for cashback before? The erms of their cashback are: payment in equal installments in month 4, 8, 12 direct to your bank - you have to submit copies of ALL BILLS and cannot change tariffs at all, but that seems fair enough.

    From their website T&Cs (http://www.buymobilephones.net/tandc.ihtml)
16.2 Line rental refunds and text pack/bundle refunds and cash backs will be paid in three equal parts on month four, month eight and month twelve of your contract. Each claim is initiated by sending us your first four bills within 28 days of the date of the fourth bill and second four bills within 28 days of the date of your eighth bill and last four bills within 28 days of the bill date of the twelth bill . Bills received after this date will not qualify for line rental refunds. Bills must show no outstanding money from previous bills and also show no tariff changes. Only Original copies of your bills will be accepted. Please take copies before you send these bills to us as we will not be able to return them. We strongly advise you to send your bills by recorded delivery.

Also seem to trade under the name A1 Comms Ltd.

Also have other 12 month offers on Motorolla V220 Pink, Motorola V620 and others off their homepage

  • Im not sure how reliable the company are with regards to cashback, but one thing I am sure of is the phone is totally junk!
It looks much better than it functions. Ive seen better cameras on kids toys.
So if you want it for the minutes then you might consider it, otherwise if youre after the phone...forget it.

I had a v220 but it stopped working after less than a month with a powering up problem. Eventually I had to send it back to motorola who refused to repair it as they said the damage was caused by liquid contaminants. My phone had never been near any form of liquid, out in the rain or even in a steamy room(such as in a bathroom with a bath being run). Needless to say I was not very impressed as their conclusion meant that either they were lying or the phone was very fragile and not worth the effort/expense of getting it paid to be repaired since it could so easily go on the blink again. I will not touch any motorolas again even if they are free and advise anyone to keep well away.
  • I will never touch motorola phones. They are well known for poor quality phones packed with lots of features. Bought two motorola phones and will NEVER buy another one again.

Cheers all. I think I'll go for it for this purpose. Just want the free minutes for my brother. I've taken care of his mobile needs for free for the last couple of years thanks to the clever people on this site!

After all your advice I decided to go for Sony Eriksson K300i instead as it was also available on the same deal, ie free.

Does anyone know if I'm free to sell this handset if I put the SIM in another phone?
  • Ive had similar deals with one stop phone shop and the phone was mine to do whatever I want with from day one.
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!
