Hi Lexie. I would agree with you saying that they dont have the authority to deal with what people call about but what about passing on the problem to a superior? Thats what i was told would happen each time i called, and nothing did. Also, i'm interested to hear about a transcript of calls. Is this recorded or something the you type out while the convo is going on? If something is recorded in whatever way, why has no one ever had any idea what i had called about in the past?

Yes, if it was a new meter it would have a different number. Each meter has a unique number. On some makes it is the first two digits that indicate the date of manufacture. This Actaris brochure shows meters manufactured in the year 2007. http://www.actaris.com/html/index.php?module=actaris&func=viewmedia&idmp=7496

Hi there, sorry they aren't getting back to you & that is entirely the fault of the manager it is passed to I would say.... No it isn't all typed out while you are on line but all contacts (with our company anyway although I don't work for SW we should all follow the same procedure) are marked on the account showing date, time & who spoke to you then if needed the recorded calls can be listened to. It can then be taken down & transcibed or you can ask for a copy of the tapes. I think there is a small charge incurred but under the Data Protection Act you are entitled to ask for this. I really hope you get it sorted.

The way we would have dealt with this is that we would as you to take a meter reading then another one a week later to see your average consumption then work this out for how many weeks there was the mix up for & anything overpaid would be returned to you....

If you really are having problems demand a supervisor & refuse to come off the line til you get one, believe me it happens & if that doesn't work involve the Consumer Council For Water, people tend to jump when you mention them.

Hope I didn't come across as stroppy but I am very proud of the service I have provided my customers in the past 11 years & hate to think we are all tarred with the same brush x
:grinheart I'm getting there...... slowly but surely

Thanks for the explanation lexie. I understand now.

They have written to me today and asked for a meter reading, which i have given today. It does sound fair about working out the average consumption. But what about the consumption over the last 3 and a half years? What is my average now, may not have been my average then

That is the only slight downfall, I would say be careful what you use this week then, don't overuse your washing machine or anything like that then you will have low consumption & hopefully your credit will come back more. Let us know how you get on won't you!

Why cant they just look at the bills of the person who was paying for my consumption and work it out like that???

Funky, deanos, yes mine looks like that but the first 2 digits of my serial number are "1M"

Edit: ooh i've just worked it out, does that mean it was fitted 2001?
