it found and cleared 3 problems.
Was your original problem file amongst them? Did you save the Ewido report of what it found and removed? It would be useful to see that report as it may indicate lingering problems.
  • showed....
the gdn ... high risk.... "downloader.small.ayl

for system 32\links.exe ...high risk.... trojan.lowzones.df

for docs & settings ...medium risk.... spyware.cookie.doubleclick.

hopefully make more sense to you than me !!!

Well it looks like Ewido did the trick. It removed that troublesome trojan, a second one and "doubleclick" spyware. "Doubleclick" can often be associated with other baddies lurking on your system so watch out for any more odd happenings on your PC.

    All the best.

couple of days ago i had a problem with a zonealarm / trojan problem.. and after running ewido it sorted them .
ran ewido again this morning ..no probs .. just done a thorough check again and in my c drive docs and settings it found ... medium risk ... 4 differrent "spyware.cookie " named as

    2o7
    esomniture
    adtmt
    advertising

    is this a problem. ??
Also... i have avast /adaware/spybot/ccleaner ..do you think i should buy ewido ? if so where from for best deal? Already today when checking for updates it stopped them and said i need to buy !

I would not buy ewido, the ones you have are ample although you could also download the free Microsoft anti-spyware as it offers "live" protection and asks for permission before making changes to your homepage etc

those cookies are nothing to worry about, come up on my scans aswell all the time , i just delete them as they crop up

    just checked the ewido site:

This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.

it should still update but if you are having problems you can download updates direct from here
