Thanks, so why bother sending us emails? Why not just post the notices on the website as they are doing intead of bothering with the whole email process...are they just trying to delay the refund?

I think they are just trying to stage/stagger the process so no bottlenecks are formed.

A more honest and helpful Icesave call centre person (this time one at the Newcastle number for Icesave listed on the https://www.saynoto0870.com website and not on the London 020 number shown on the FSCS website) told me that one of the reasons for the sending the second emails out only in waves is that the FSCS had not got access to all the necessary funding to make all the payments in one go.:mad:

This will specifically form part of the basis of my complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman (once I become deadlocked with the FSCS in my complaint) or whatever other ombudsman I can eventually go to about the FSCS not giving equal treatment to all Instant Access account holders by not ensuring they all had their funds returned to them on the same day (or at least were given the right to all withdraw their funds on the same day). This could easily have been achieved by employing a large firm of competent registrars and getting them to send out cheques in the post on one day instead of relying on the amateur efforts of the staff at Newcastle Building Society and their third rate email spam house HearFrom/Highfield:mad:

This will be in the wider context of the FSCS not paying interest after Oct 9th but some account holders with the same account balance being worse off than others due to the blatantly unfair manner in which the FSCS handled the compensation payment process.
