  • Just open internet and type in:

And then press enter! See if it comes up from there!
  • have tried and get - a is not a registered protocol
    Nice to save.
  • Let's track it from the bottom up. Reboot and go into the BIOS setup menu. Can you see it there?

  • Looks like its dead, take the old one out and put a new one in, their only a couple of quid from any computer shop or buy a usb stick, bit dearer, but can carry more info than a floppy.

    Hope this helps

Well, the drive might be dead, but let's see. I'm very interested in your proposed method to use "a usb stick" to read his "info, letters etc on floppy disc". More details please. :)

  • Hi
No he can't transfer from his floppy, but perhaps he knows someone, or has one at work, then he can transfer his floppies to, then transfer to usb stick or perhaps like I said just buy a new floppy drive.

A good way to test the A drive is to restart the PC with a floppy in the drive
and if it wont boot into Windows and you get an error message remove the floppy then press any key....the dirve is being seen, you ,might have
change the boot swap in the Bios so that the PC boots A boots first.
  • ok, i rebooted went into advanced bios features and saw:-
    first boot device - floppy
swap floppy drive - was disabled so i changed it to enable
    then
gone into - my computer - device manager
this show - standard floppy disc controller

i'm not really very techie, so i dont know if this is helpful to anyone.

there is 2 years of warranty remaining, shall i just tell comet?
    Nice to save.
