Help me ditch Pipex Homecall/Tiscali

Hi,
Can anybody recommend a cheaper broadband only deal for Scarborough (YO11). I am desperate to ditch Pipex Homecall (Now part of Tiscali) and as such don't want to go with Tiscali either. We have paid through the nose for months and got the most shoddy customer service ever.
Please advise
Thanks

Hi, can I add my question "How do I ditch AOL 8mths into an 18mth contract, without paying a penalty?" Are there any magic words to get me off the hook?
Thanks

Negotiated a new deal (without a contract) They upgraded my speed to 8mb, and I get unlimited landline calls anytime and pay line rental to them instead of BT and now the full package costs £24.99. As opposed to the £46 I paid including Line rental. So if anything I have saved £22 a month even if they have shoddy service.Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

Did you consider:
BT £15.45 pm

Have you got it in writing their is no contract ?0 -
I am with Tiscali and have terrible disconnection problems with them, in that the service disconnects every ten minutes or so. They are unable/unwilling to help.
I am in the same town as you.
I have found Virgin broadband at £15 per month. (8mb unlimited downloads plus free evening and weekend calls) £7.50 for the first three months. They are charging a £30 connection fee, but if you go through Quidco you should get £37 cashback. I say you should but when you have entered all your information in including bank details, the website tells you they cannot complete the transaction and you have to phone them (thus you don't qualify for cashback).
I am currently looking for another provider but I may have to bite the bullet and just pay the £30 and hope for a better service.
Their customer services don't seem very helpful but at least they can be understood and don't charge 10p a minute to keep you hanging around for half an hour, as Tiscali does.
If you find anything better let me know.0 -

Your talking about Virgin Media (Non Cable) which you need a BT Line to use.If you have a BT Line you can sign up for any non cable broadband service provider ,also BT will give you free evening and weekend calls.
Have you checked http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php to see if anybody has unbundled your exchange.0
