Hello again – having been a fairly regular contributor to this thread in its early days, I haven’t added to it for the last three or four days, since I was (a) too busy (lie) and (b) too depressed (truth) and (c) couldn’t think of anything new to say (brain stopped working).

Anyway, just logged onto my e-mails and there it was! E-mail number two! I was so convinced I’d be the last woman standing…….

All of you take heart – especially Nilrem for starting this really uplifting thread – it’s given me a laugh during this really depressing time. I knew we’d all get it really but you do tend to lose confidence a bit.

I shall continue to log in to check to see when you all get the good news – keep on keeping on.

Even though it's been freezing cold today, I stood outside the FSCS offices all morning to chivvy them up a bit for a few of you.
    Hope it helps

Sir, situation report, sir. 3 or 4 personell have been relieved, had no. 2's, but after completing associated paperwork have promised to return to camp. New troops have been drafted in, seem a pleasant bunch. Some of the men are still revolting and I've put the firing squad on stand by."

Not wimpy in my mind, rather quite sensible. Who needs a cold when your money's already frozen? Sounds like you could do with a drink - what can we get you?

See above re hot toddy already supplied........;)

  • Hi guys

I hope I am not too late for drinks. I really need mug of tea to clear head which is buzzing with bank statement figures. Lloyds are as useless as the FSCS (needless to say no 2nd email here either). They seem to take a perverse delight in making something straightforward as tortuous as possible.

Both of us have colds too which is not helping my general mood. A tot of Edradour was called for earlier. Won't be able to afford that any more if this goes on.

Went down to the village newsagent this morning and saw a 08 reg Skoda parked outside. Driver (male) was rejoicing about possibility of 0% interest rates so he could borrow more. Newsagent told me later that guy was banker. I said that could mean counter clerk . He said Skoda is wife's car and
he drives Ferrari but they still owe him over £200 despite chasing. You could not make it up.

  • Hi
This is my first ever post having just discovered this site after thinking i was one of the only people stupid enough to invest all my savings in an icelandic bank - so all my friends and family have been telling me! i received my first email on 4th nov - no second yet. Only check once a day now - better than getting depressed 12 times a day!
