2 usb ports - help

lol...I was going to suggest putting the program on a usb pen drive but then rememebered your problem...the program is quite small and will fit on a floppy though.
One other thing, is the other puter running XP or Win 98 because if its win 98 you would need drivers for the usb items and if I remember its only win 98 SE which supports usbWelcome, rogerramjet.

Are the motherboard drivers installed? VIA chipsets are usually fussy about this.

OK, you've nothing to loose....goto the device manager, open the Universal Serial Bus Controller.then right mouse button click on each one of the ones you've mentioned and then click on uninstall. once uninstalled, reboot the computer and see if it will auto install the devices and hopefully, sort the problem
