They are gorgeous .... not hold much though. They could be used as place cards to put guests names on, so everyone knows where they are sitting at the Christmas table !
That's mostly what they'll be forThey're going to have the names on with just a handful of gold sweets and a scratch card - the people coming for dinner will have larger ones in their presents though so it's just an extra chance of winning - couldn't resist when i saw them

Hi guys!! I'm new to all this, but I went in the old Poundland today and found 25 polystyrene bowls for a quid (duh!) and got metallic gold spray paint for a quid from my local pound tat shop. Just sprayed them now, I will unveil the finished results when they are dry (Praying the weather holds out...there's an awful black cloud on the hills!) but struggling for what to use instead of choc coins, as i have 3 lactose intolerant siblings who I don't want to make ill! Any suggestions would be absolutely fandabbydozy!0

I'm planning on making these this year with a scratch card and gift voucher.
I popped into morrisons last night and they had Elizabeth shaw mints half price @ £1.75. Christmas wishes not on offer at I think 60p and 2 x gold coin bags for £2 (not sure how tgi's compared price wise as first place I've looked)

Packs of 3 white ramekins in Poundland. Too small for me but might be good for someone.0

I LOVE this idea! I think I'll have to have a go at these for various relatives who are notoriously difficult to buy for... What would you advise wrapping them up in?
(I love this forum)

Last year I used cellophane with little gold stars on gathered at the top with metallic gold ribbon/tape with my pots of gold verse and also a little glittery gold snowflake tree decoration hanging off it !
If you go back to the pots of gold posts from last year....you will hopefully find some photos still on there.0 -
Went into Mr T's today and found the following:
Christmas wishes - 2 for £1
Gold coins - 3 for 2 @ 99p each
Ferrero rocher - half price @ £4
Mini lint chocolate teddy bears - 50p each for 3 for £1

Thanks, I bought the butterscotch ones for a change. I'm going to try one or two in a minute to make sure they're nice enough.;)0 -
I don't think I ever got round to posting what mine ended up like last year, my first year trying to make them, so hopefully below is a photo of two of them!0
