Pots of gold help!

I got the clear plastic bowls from tesco £2.99 for 8 and sprayed them gold, it was really easy and they are the perfct size and look fantastic! I did get some from poundland, sprayed them gold too but they are bigger than the tesco ones and hold quite a lot!
As well as the chocolates mentioned on here, I have used single twix bars, and tesco own christmas bars of chocolate, they have a festive paper cover over the gold wrapping, I removed the paper cover:D
For the school santa presents (over 100 to make:eek:) I have used a clear plastic drinking cup £1.50 for 100 cups, they look good and very cheap!!0 -
I shopped for my pots of gold yesterday whilst pressie shopping and found the following - hope it helps

Asda:
5 ferrero roch! chocs for £1,
2 big caramel chocs (from quality st) for 70p (I think they're 45p a piece?)
8 or so chocolate teddies in a tube (not sure how much but on a 2 for £3 offer)
Cadburys bell chocolate decorations (again now sure how much but £2 for £3)
big chocolate penny for £1
Smartprice choc eclairs about 32p a bag
Chocolate coins 1.50 for 2 (better deals available)
Netto:
chocolate coins 50p a net
Wilko:
Chocolate coins - £1 for 2
Big chocolate coins £1
I also put in gold shredded tinsel type stuff to bulk it up (£1 a bag from Card Warehouse/poundworld) and bought gold wrapped sweets from my local pick and mix stall on the market. Also got 6 mini crunchies and kitkat caramels so it's worth a look to see if you have one and if they have stuff you can put together too
ETA: Should have said, it's only the three of us for Christmas this year so I am doing slightly bigger ones than usual. I'm using these:
6 for £2 inc postage on ebay, 3 for pots of gold and three for table gifts with chocs/little present etc hence the size of some of the stuff found and used

Hobbycraft have gold coloured mini buckets like these
.
I'm doing mini silver ones for on the Christmas table. So far I've got the following in them -
£1 scratchcard, choc xmas lolly (Asda 4 for £1), silver choc coins (Asda 2 for £1), Thorntons penguins (5 bags for £3).
Also may put in miniature vodka or whisky.
