ICESAVE - Money Received

why on earth should the fscs be getting grovelling thanks from some people!! They are just doing their job. I would also be very miffed if I had had to wait another 2 weeks for my second e mail. `I`m all right jack` is rubbing some people faces in it
A simple statement saying that funds had arrived would have done
and.... in the cold said:
"...are you serious?
from what you have said it sounds as though you think the FSCS is doing people a favour
as someone who does not know when they will receive payment and with losing the opportunity to gain interest on my money i am far from impressed by the process or should i say mess!...."
I guess you two would have preferred to send off your letters in the post to some government agency in Iceland for the first 20k euros, waited for that, then, written to the FSCS to claim the rest up to GBP50k and then whistle for the rest (if you had more than 50k in there). That's how it could have gone if everyone had stuck to the script.
I'm waiting for my money from Icesave (for the second e-mail) and if I claim the full amount ( a bit less than 50k) on the last day of November, I'll still be happy as it could have been a lot, lot worse. Believe me, getting money out of KE/ING was a lot more stressfull than this. Seems to me like the FSCS process for Icesave is about as good as it can be in the overall interests of all the depositors.
Stop moaning.......0 -
Longtime lurker, first time poster, so i'm well prepared to be called a troll.:money:
Are some people on here for real!?! A person posts up their experience of getting their compensation very smoothly to let others know not to worry, and he gets hounded for it?
LOL!It seems to me a little unfair the way in which they are selecting people to pay.
I'm sorry, do you know the process they are using?I understand that we can't all log on at the same time but there ought to be some sort of compensation for the poor people who are loosing even more money because they have to wait up to an extra 3 weeks.
You are getting compensation. Just be glad your not having to use the passport scheme.why on earth should the fscs be getting grovelling thanks from some people!! They are just doing their job.
This is the best by far! :rotfl:
What happened to being able to thank someone for 'just doing their job'?
Now, i suppose it is easy for me to say that when i have my icesave money sitting in my bank account. Your turn will come, just sit patient, don't be sour.

It's a great relief to know that the money is arriving safely, I was concerned about the whole system working as smoothly as they said it would until I read your thread title, so thank you OP.
For people who want their money now, I can understand the frustration if you need the money now for a house purchase or the interest as your main income, but other than that surely a little patience isn't too much to ask, especially because most people need time to set up accounts to receive the money anyway.
In response to one of the earlier posts, now that I know the system works I would gladly go to the back of the queue, I don't have huge amounts tied up in Icesave and I don't need it straight away, so I would VOLUNTEER to wait in preference to people in the situations I mentioned above who obviously NEED their money.MFW #66 - £4800 target0 -

A question if someone would answer. I completed the claims process yesterday and there was a message advising when completed and logged out it would not be possible to log in again and view accounts.
However, I can still log in and the accounts are still there and showing their respective balances, so the money might not haver gone out yet.
For those who have completed their claim, can they confirm the balance disappeared straight away and they can no longer access Icesave to view their accounts?
Is this the first c ock up in the system I wonder?
I did fortunately print out the confirmations that the transfer instructions had been completed plus the statements so I just need anyone elses experiences before 'phoning FSCS and/Icesave.
Thanks in advance.
If you log back in and try to transfer the money again, you should get a message that tells you it's already being processed, so, no, it's not a !!!!-up. My cash has been transferred, although I have nervously logged into Icesave & nominated accounts every day to look for progress. Your money should be with you by tuesday at the latest.0 -

No flamesuit needed. I agree with you 100%. People need to get real. I was amazed how quickly some people mixed up in the KE/ING fisaco moved on from getting their deposits (that a mere two weeks ago had been at the bottom of the North Atlantic with KE) to moaning about loss of interest and refunds on CHAPS payments.
I know that lots of people have savings through graft and hard work (and often a bit of luck too), but while we are waiting our three weeks for 5k, 10k, 50k, 100k, whatever the amount, maybe we should think of the millions of people on the planet who would give their right arm to be in our position. It's all relative and most Icseavers are well off in the grand scheme of things....0 -
Money received sometime after 0100 today.
That's roughly 3-4 working days and it comes as a transfer for each account you hold but all transferred at once, i.e I'm not still waiting for money from 1 account
It's been a nervous 4 days but whatever method is being used to activate accounts I can report that it works smoothly.
Good luck to those who are still waiting.0 -
ajaxgeezer wrote: ».... yes it seems to be, but to be honest being able to log back in when they said I wouldn't was the last of my worries. It does seem a long time since your claim and still not received the email, but I suppose there's a backlog, and it could back up further as more people are involved. I'm privileged to have been one of the very first to get it, it seems. No idea why - surname is a J, I have two accounts (ISA and easy access), both were opened in January, so probably somewhere in the middle of everyone. I just know I ain't complaining

During processing I don't remember there being a warning about a further email, so don't be concerned about that.
3 confirmation e-mails received (20 hours) so my concerns do appear to be unfounded.
Someone asked the same question as I originally did on another thread expecting not to be able to log in again and view accounts (per FSCS message) once the claims had been initiated. The fact that this is still possible sows a seed of doubt as to whether the process did go through properly! Surname "J" similar to yourself but that probably means nothing.
Edit to add - oh yes, a big grovelling, snivelling, prostrated thank you to the FSCS and Newcastle B S for their sterling work!0 -
Please can everyone here who has received money or initiated their refunds humour me and go fill in my new poll

Thankyou!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
