It is very easy to be pleased if you have got at your cash but to those of us still waiting it is a very lonely and frustrating time indeed.
Most of us are confident that we will get our cash back but it does seem unfair that some of us may have to wait up to another 3 weeks which means more income lost and more difficulty reinvesting the cash in a decent interest savings account, as I said a few days ago we were all been treated equally but now we are not.
I understand that we can't all log on at the same time but there ought to be some sort of compensation for the poor people who are loosing even more money because they have to wait up to an extra 3 weeks.0 -
So given that the system obviously can't handle everyone going in at the same day, what do you suggest?
Those with most in would say "Us first, we have the most to lose in lost interest"
Those with least in would say "Us first, we need our money more than the rich guys"
Those with stoozpots in would say "Us first, we have a huge exposure"
etc, etc......
It should be remembered that
a) the FSCS weren't actually responsible for compensation at all at this point
b) once they get involved, they aim to settle claims within 3 months, or 6 for exceptional circumstances.
Given that everyone looks like they will get their money within 2 months, even in these exceptional circumstances, I think the FSCS have done fantastically well.0 -
It took 20 hours for the confirmation 3rd e mail0
-
why on earth should the fscs be getting grovelling thanks from some people!! They are just doing their job. I would also be very miffed if I had had to wait another 2 weeks for my second e mail. `I`m all right jack` is rubbing some people faces in it
A simple statement saying that funds had arrived would have done0 -
Everyone is informed, very well informed compared to the KE/ING debacle; We're getting better than the guaranteed minimum money.
We don't have to go through the passport scheme.
We 're getting quicker turnround than eu law demads.
We get better than some expected as we get the interest;
We get better than expected fix term bond options.
The process as Ajax said appears as smooth as silk.
WOW from me (even though waiting 2nd email).
Now, I was going to say there are gonna be plenty of moaners...anyhow. And before I could finish typing.......0 -

are you serious?
from what you have said it sounds as though you think the FSCS is doing people a favour
as someone who does not know when they will receive payment and with losing the opportunity to gain interest on my money i am far from impressed by the process or should i say mess!0 -
why on earth should the fscs be getting grovelling thanks from some people!!
.....because I was led to believe it would take six months. It took less than six weeks. For that, I'm grovellingly thankful.A simple statement saying that funds had arrived would have done
.. that's how the thread started. Some weren't happy, so I replied. That's fair I reckon.
Maybe we can ignore everything above and go back to my original point - Once you've had your second email and correctly made the transfer, you can be happy that it's smooth as silk. That's it.0 -

That's mighty arrogant. I don't see he was trying to rub anyone's nose in it. They might be 'just doing their job' but when you do your job well, don't you expect some appreciation?
Even if you disagree with what he/we say, what qualifies you to decide what or how we post?0 -
No he doesn't IMHO... He sounds like he was impressed with the service he got and expressed his appreciation.in_the_cold wrote: »are you serious?

Bad news folks, my source has revealed that the drawing straws method of selection has been scrapped, the scissors got blunt!
However the new random picking machine is now fully functional. Picture this 6 large cardboard discs in a row. The first divided into 3 equal parts, marked 0, 1 and 2 respectively. The second divided into 6 equal parts, marked 0 to 5 respectively. The other 4 divided into 10 equal parts, marked 0 to 9 respectively. In the centre of each chair they've positioned a swivel chair. On each chair sits a blindfolded office junoir with their right arm outstretched infront of them. Every ten minutes the Chief Executive struts along the line, spinning each chair as she goes. If your lucky number (anything between 0 and 259,999) is picked by the "human pointers" the email process begins. Simple really, I just hope they remember to oil the chairs otherwise things will slow down or even grind to a halt.
