I am in debt of about £16,000. I contacted Churchwood and even pay their initial £250. They seems not to be straightforward in their dealings with me. Their reviews is not that great on this forum.
    Personally, my target are;
    1) To get the interest Frozen and
    2) Not to include my wife's details( I owe Not her)

Churchwood is looking at IVA for me while i personally prefer a DMP.

    1) Can i do DMP by myself?

    2) How long could this take?

    3) Whats the magic of getting the interest frozen?

    Help please
    Hi Baba,

Might be a good idea to do your full SoA (link here: http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html ) and start your own thread asking for advice - it will be less confusing for you that way, as advice won't get 'lost' or read by the wrong person. :) it will also help us work out if a DMP is suitable for you. :)

I DO know that you have no need to go for a fee-paying DMP, though - did you willingly give them that money? If not (i.e. they took it without your authorisation, or they took more than agreed), there may be a chance of getting it back. Either way, get on to your bank and ask them to stop any payments to their account for now, or you may find more money going missing...

They(Churchwood) keep on calling me for days until i pay the money into their account. Ironically it was me now calling them for update. I dont trust them anymore. I will post my SOA affairs later today.

    1) How could i do DMP or IVA without given out my Wife's details. She's not part of the debt, why should her details be put onboard? Churchwood collected her Date of birth and full Kid's details. What for?

    Cheers
  • Although I understand you want this to be off your back the paid DMA are not the best option. It is just a little bit less to your creditors and believe it or not they will get you less that the Charities would. People at the CCCS and CAB actually care that you sort things out rather than just wanting your money (since they are not getting any). Have you tried talking to the CAB maybe they can fit you in sooner than the CCCS. And your creditors will much prefer that you are dealing with the CCCS or CAB.

You don't mention that you have any children, could your partner work full time?

    Thanks so much.

My wife worked full-time. She had been so supportive BUT I DONT WANT ANYTHING TO AFFECT HER CREDIT. I spoke to Halifax credit card today and they mention CCCS. They even told me that they wont stopped the interest UNLESS CCCS handle it.

    1) How long is it going to take for me to have a clean credit history?

Baba - rather than hijacking LostBoy's thread you would be better off starting your own otherwise it is going to get very confusing for all concerned.

Baba dont worry about the hijacking thing. - hope you manage to get it all sorted.
Fortunately, I haven't paid anything yet to Churchwood. - only just received their paperwork today. ) haven't signed it yet. - and not sure I will. Today i have spoken to a legal team in Scotland and it looks like they have suggested a 'protected trust deed' is the best option for me. - what do you think about this option please?

  • Why all the silence:confused:
is a protected trust deed the work of the devil??

  • Sorry Lostboy, I don't know anything about a protected trust deed. Perhaps these are a uniquely Scottish thing, which might explain the silence...

Glad you are getting some help though!
